I. OBJECTIVES
At end of the lesson, the pupils should be able to:
1. identify the operations either Addition or Subtraction;
2. solve order of operations involving addition and subtraction of small
numbers; and
3. relate the concept of addition and subtraction in real-life situation.

Motivation
I have here different pictures on
the board. I want you to observe the
different pictures.

pictures on the board?
Ma’am different pictures of
fruits.

What kinds of fruit did you see?
Ma’am an apple, mango,
strawberry, and pears.
Okay very good!
Class, I have here 2 apples, what
if I add the apples. How many apples
all in all?
Ma’am, there are 5 apples.

How about if Maria buys 4
strawberries and then the 2
strawberries give to her friend. How
many strawberry that Maria have?

B. PRESENTATION OF THE
LESSON
Today we are going to discuss
about Order of Operations Involving
Addition and Subtraction of Small
Numbers.
But before we proceed to our
topic for today, let’s read our lesson
objective as we go along with our
discussion.
OBJECTIVES
1. Identify the operations either
addition or subtraction;
2. Solve order of operations
involving addition and
subtraction of small numbers; and
3. Relate the concept of addition and
subtraction in real- life situation.

C. LESSON PROPER
Addition it is the process of
adding something to something else.

Example:

Subtraction or what we call


minus, it is the process of removing
something from a collection

Example:

ACTIVITY
Okay class, we will be having an
activity entitled “ANSWER ME”. I
will group the class into 4 groups.
Your group will depend according to
the color of your name tag.
Group 1 will be the orange color
and they will stay at the first and two
rows. Group 2 will be the green color
and they will stay at the left corner of
the first and two rows. Group 3 the
red color and will stay at the back of
the group 1. Group 4 the yellow color
will stay at the back of the group 2 at
the left side.
Okay class, are you in your
groups now?
Yes, Ma’am!
Okay very good
In each group I will choose
student to answer the problem on
the board, he/ she will choose
answer at the board that I posted.
And after he/ she find the answer
they’re going to post it based on
their group.

What will happen when we are
using addition as an operation? And
also in subtraction?
In addition: It makes things became
more and more.
In subtraction: it makes the object
became less and less.

V. ASSIGNMENT

Compute:

1. Lucy buys 15 candies. She gives Hannah 5 candies. How many candies that
Lucy have?

2. Her mother give Justine 5 pesos and his father give her 10 pesos. How many
money that Justine have?
