What to Include in Your Dream Speech

Read it aloud. Aim for 30 seconds. When you are finished outlining, type into a
Google document and turn it in on Google Classroom. To get an A, you will also
read it in front of the class!

2. Define your dream and tell WHY you want it.


Example: My dream is to become a great chef. I’ve always loved creating in the kitchen. It
makes me feel great to satisfy my friends and family with food.

3. What education will you need to make your dream come true? Do research
if necessary.
Example: In order to become a chef, I need to get at least an associate’s degree in culinary arts.

4. How will your dream coming true benefit others?


Example: Achieving my dream will help me provide my family and people in the community with
nutritious and delicious food to eat.

I. Warm Up: Journal Entry (15 minutes) – What do you enjoy doing? What are
you good at? Both? Think about your talents and interests. Write a 100-word
response in your journal.

II. “I Have a Dream” draft. Type your draft into a Google document and turn it in
to Google Classroom. See the outline on the back to help you. To get an A, read
your draft in front of the class. DUE TODAY.

III. Complete and turn in your 3D notes from our Tuesday sessions in the
auditorium. (Informal grade) If you were absent, you can:

 Use the book Put Your Dream to the Test for help.

 Ask a friend.

 Fill in the blanks with words that logically make sense.

IV. Complete tasks on your Beowulf choice menu, which will be due next week.

Tomorrow: We will work on a theme sample paragraph and SLE proposals for your
Graduation Project.
