DHIS2 National, Regional and Partner TOT Training Report

To improve the timeliness and quality of health data reporting, the Ministry of Health is continuously
improving the eHMIS/DHIS2 system. Following the former deployment and implementation there were
several new requirements and feedback gathered from the end users. On the other hand, the Health
Information System program and the DHIS2 community have made tremendous improvements on global
DHIS2 Application. In order to incorporate the sought requirements and integrate the new features
leveraged by the DHIS2 Community, an Upgrade have been made from DHIS22.27 to DHIS23.0 version.
The upgrade includes: Redesign of Disease registration format, Development of new, inclusion of DHIS2
apps developed by DHIS2 community, addition of new data elements to be reported, Fixture of previous
detected issues. Furthermore, there are several apps incorporated, in DHIS2 of the newly customized
version, including:

• Custom Dataset Report • Interactive Assignments
• PHEM Data Entry • WHO Metadata Browser
• PHEM Data Export • Scorecard
• Maps • League Table
Training was provided to PPMED, HITD and PHEM for facilitation of Regional TOT and overall management
of the training process. Training of Trainees (TOT) was provided to Regional Health Bureau experts,
regional PHEM focal, on the new version of DHIS2, who are in charge of training the experts from the
facilities, lead and supervise the cascading and rollout of the new version. Similarly, partners were trained
on DHIS2 usage that will enable them to cascade trainings and provide technical supports for DHIS2 rollout
and implementation.
