Purpose and Use of Watershed

Watershed
- any sloping land surface that sheds water; more functionally-all land
enclosed by a continuous hydraulic drainage divide and lying upslope from
specific point on a stream.

Uses of Watershed
1. Stores water from rain
2. Serves as a funnel for water
3. Delivers water to rivers, lakes and other water bodies.

Purposes of watershed

1. To conserve water
2. To promote streamflow
3. To support sustainable streams, rivers, lakes and groundwater sources
4. To provide healthy soil for crops and livestocks
5. To provide habitat for wildlife and plants
B. Economy
1. To produces energy
2. To supply water for agriculture, industry and households

flooding impacts.
