SUMMARY

2.1 Clarity of Learning Targets

 Assessment can be made precise, accurate and dependable.


 Learning Targets involves knowledge, reasoning, skills, product and effects.
 Learning Targets can be stated in behavioral terms.

2.1.1 Cognitive Targets

 Level 1 – Knowledge
o It refer to acquisition of facts, concepts and theories.
 Example: Discovery of the Philippines

 Level 2- Comprehension
o It refers to the same concept of understanding.
o Awareness of the interrelationship of facts and concepts.
 Example : The Spaniards ceded the Philippines to the Americans

 Level 3 – Application
o It refers to the transfer of knowledge from one field to another in the same discipline.
 Example: The classic experiment Pavlov on dogs.

 Level 4 – Analysis
o It refers to the breaking down of a concept into components and explaining the concepts as the
composition of these concepts.
 Example: Poverty in the Philippines

 Level 5 – Synthesis
o It refers to the opposite of analysis and entails putting together to summarize the concept.
 Example: Field of Geometry

 Level 6 – Evaluation and Reasoning


It refers to valuing and judgment or putting the worth of a concept.
 Example: Field of Geometry

2.1.2 Skills, Competencies and Abilities Targets

 Skills
o It refers to specific activities or task that a student can proficiently do.
o It clustered together to form specific competencies.

 Competencies
o It refers to characterize a student’s ability.

 Abilities
It refers to designed or optimized someone’s capacity.

Classified into:
 Cognitive
 Affective
 Psychomotor

2.1.3Products, Outputs and Projects Targets

 It is a tangible and concrete evidence of student’s ability.


 It clearly specify the level of workmanship.
