CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

This research was prompted by a desire to conduct a Feasibility study for

business plan that is possible one for the proponents to build the business in

near future.

Internet café business is indeed a very popular business. It is one of the

establishments made indispensable in an increasingly interconnected world.

Internet café was started with the opening of the first cyber café, Café Cyberia, in

London (UK) September 1, 1994. It was founded by Eva Pascoe. It started with

half a dozen HP computers, connected to the Internet through dial-up modems that

were able to transfer data at 9.6 kilobytes per second. As the first Internet cafe,

Cafe Cyberia got tremendous publicity and additional investments into the

business from likes of Mick Jagger and Maurice Saatchi.With the success of Cafe

Cyberia, the Internet Cafe business got into a flying start, and therewere over 60

similar cafes over the world by the summer of 199

Computer shop, are places that have computers available, usually for a fee

that you can use to go online. Besides using the computer workstation, you may

also be able to print or scan documents, depending on the Internet café. Computer

shop is mostly common on students who normally do research for their home

works, projects and researchers.

Nature of the Business

The business in which the Connexio Computer shop belongs is in the

service. This might be the one of the most famous in the industry which people

usually using especially the students.

The existence of the business started because of the eagerness of the

proponent to give a fast and reliable yet budget friendly for the students since it is

the business target market.

Location

The business is to be found beside the public high school which is Manuel

Luis Quezon High School located at 423 Malaria Rd. 18J Malaria, Caloocan, 1427

Metro Manila. It is surrounded by students also the people in the community who

can be a regular costumer.

Objectives of the Study

The objective of the study is to know how feasible a computer shop that will

be established in Malaria Caloocan City

Specifically, the study aims to:

1. Determine the demographic profile of the target market

2. Determine the factors needed for establishing computer shop in

Philippines

3. To understand how computer shop works

Scope and Delimitation of the Study

The study limits on how to establish a computer shop business here in

the Philippines. The project is restricted on Student at Malaria Caloocan City and

will base on management, marketing, technical, socioeconomic, and financial

aspect of business. The researcher will chose one hundred (100) respondents only

for the study.

Definition of Terms

Connexio – Latin word for Connected

Capitalist Partner – one who contributes money or property to the common fund

General Partner - is composed of 2 or more persons (usually not a married couple)

who agree to contribute money, labor, or skill to a business. Each partner shares

the profits, losses, and management of the business, and each partner is

personally and equally liable for debts of the partnership.

Industrial Partner – one who contributes only his industry or personal service

Chapter 2

MANAGEMENT STUDY

Management is one of the important aspects in establishing a business.

The overall implementation plan is discussed in the organization management

study. This aspect includes a study of the officers and key personnel, basic

consideration in forming the organization, former ownership, organizational chart

and project schedule. The objective of the management aspect of a feasibility

study is determined option effectiveness of the organizational setup and

qualifications of individuals who will make up the organization.

Name of the Business

The business name under this business is “Connexio Computer shop”.

Connexio is a Latin word for connected. From the Merriam Webster connected

means, joined or linked together. The owners want to connect all their target

market by providing a fast and reliable internet services and also to lessen the

hassle their offer other services to make it a one stop computer shop.

The owners make sure that the name of the business will attract and make

the costumer very interested since it’s unique and easy to remember. Also, it will

make them realized that the computer shop will recognized for quality service

worth to tell others for.

The proponent use this logo for the costumers will easily see and remember

the business name. Also, the globe with the mouse cursor makes it recognize as

a computer shop since it looks like a browser about to click. The tagline will help

to state the objectives of the business in the simple way.

Aims to provide a quick and reliable yet affordable internet service. Maintain

the quality of the service and keeping our current costumers and attract and more

customer to patronize our computer shop.

Forms of Business Ownership

The proposed project shall be held and managed under the partnership

form of business organization specifically a general partner, capitalist partner and

industrial partner. According to Philippine Civil Code Article 1767

By the contract of partnership two or more persons bind themselves to contribute

money, property, or industry to a common fund, with the intention of dividing the

profits among themselves. Two or more persons may also form a partnership for

the exercise of a profession.

Capitalization

The capital of this Partnership shall be the amount of ₱ 1,000,000.00 Philippine

Currency, contributed in cash by the partners, as follows:

Chapter 3

MARKET STUDY

This chapter will help to know the marketing aspect of the business. The

marketing aspects will cover the following: Methodology, Demand, Supply,

Demand and Supply Analysis/Demand Supply Gap, Projected Sales/Market Share

and Marketing Strategies/Proposed. For the business to prosper, it should be given

time and effort. The proponent of this business must have the desired creativity so

as to be able to provide quality service to its customers. The fulfillment of the needs

and wants of its customers or target market must be the key objective of the

recommended business.

Methodology

The researchers will use the descriptive research method since it

appropriate to know how feasible a Computer Shop that will be establishes at

Malaria Caloocan City.

According to Manuel and Medel in Calderon (1993:61) Descriptive

Research describes "what is". It involves the description, recording analysis, and

interpretation of the present nature, composition or process of phenomena. The

focus is on prevailing conditions, or how a person, group on thing behaves or

functions in the present. It often involves some type of comparison on contrast.

This involves the collection of data that will provide an account or

description of individuals, groups or situations. Instrument use to obtain data in

studies include questionnaire, interviews (closed questions), and observation.

The researchers use to descriptive know what exists and to help to uncover

new facts and meaning. Through descriptive method the researchers will easily

gather information to achieve the purpose of the study.

community. By providing a fast internet student will be more satisfied and

they will be more comfortable in the shop.

gadgets that can connect on wifi. Instead of renting in the computer shop,

why not giving them connectivity that they can use their own gadgets.
