Which planet, according to astrology, helps with buying a home?

Elango Muthu Vijayan, studied Astrology

Answered Jan 28, 2018
In astrology 4th house rules immovable properties, landed properties, home and
conveyance. The planet Mars and Venus rules immovable properties. So when
Mars/Venus is well placed then the native will own landed properties.

When Lagna lord and 4th lord are well placed then native will own many landed
properties. 9th house rules father, if 4th lord have benefic connection with 9th lord then
native will carry his father’s property. If 4th lord is well placed in 2nd house(11th house
from 4th house) then native will inherit property from maternal grand father.

When strong 4th lord is well placed in 7th house then native may inherit property from
spouse father or acquire landed property after marriage. When 4th lord becomes weak or
afflicted with connection with 6th house then native may face litigation on ancestral
property.

Coming to time period for buying home, dasha or bukti of 4th lord will be generally
good. In addition, well placed Venus and Mars dasha or bukti will also be favorable for
buying home or landed property.

When do we see Navamsha Kundli?

Answered Oct 4, 2018

The Navamsa chart is one of the divisional chart(9th division Rashi chart) and it is never
meant to replace the Rashi chart. So it is good practice to read all the planetary setup and
dignity in Rashi chart first. Then start analyzing navamsha chart for finer details. I have
already explained about technique to read navamsha chart in my other quora answer[1].

Please also refer my other answer [2]to know more details about the significance of the
navamsha chart and when to read it.

What is the significance of 'Navamsha Chart'
in Vedic astrology?

Answered Feb 11, 2018

As I always say D9 chart is another divisional chart which should be read like any other
chart. Some people believe that navamsha chart activates during second part of life, but
In my experience navamsha chart should always read along with Rashi chart.

Rashi chart should be given highest importance and then followed by D9 chart. Rashi
chart is the primary indicator and Navamsa chart is a secondary determinant. Only when
particular combination in Rashi chart then go to Navamsha chart to confirm the
prediction. I have seen many people predict a combination only in Navamsha without
any combination in Rashi chart which don’t make sense to me.

To give an analogy reading Rashi chart are like doctor reading the symptoms of diseased
person and reading Navamsha chart are like lab reports. Only when person is having
certain symptoms of disease it make sense to do lab test. No doctor will recommend lab
test without having bodily symptoms.

In my personal experience, prediction using Jaimini Karakamsa in Navamsha chart

yields convincing results most of the time. Please ready my other answer[1] where I have
explained about the concept of Atmakaraka, Amatyakaraka etc.

What does Venus as Atmakaraka and Mars

as Amatyakaraka mean?
This question previously had details. They are now in a comment.

Elango Muthu Vijayan, studied Astrology

Answered Jan 9, 2018

Atmakaraka and Amatyakaraka are concepts used in Jaimini astrology. Atmakaraka is

the planet that gets highest degree and Amatyakaraka is the planet that gets second
highest degree. There are other Karaka like Bhatrukaraka, Matrukaraka, Puthrakaraka
so on and so forth. Each karaka signifies different aspect. So in your horoscope Venus
gets the highest degree followed by Mars. In General Mars as Amatyakaraka signifies
career related to Engineering, medicine, defence, police etc.

Atmakaraka is the key indicator in the horoscope and it will be used in Navamsa chart to
read the result. Some people say it indicates soul purpose, but I haven’t read such
concept anywhere. Amatyakaraka indicates profession, Bhatrukaraka indicate brothers,
Matrukaraka indicate mother so on and so forth.

Coming to analyzing the result, find the atmakaraka(ie: the planet that gets highest
degree) and go to navamsa and see where it is placed, this sign is called Karakamsa
Lagna. From Atmakaraka find the 10th house to know about profession. For example if
Mars(Amatyakaraka in this case) occupies 10th house from Venus in Navamsa then
career related Mars like defence, police, army, engineering, medicine can be predicted.
Similarly every aspect of life can predicted with Atmakaraka as reference in Navamsa.

The harsh truth about Saturn is that Saturn is negative for most people
and in most of the horoscopes. Saturn’s natural qualities are not
benevolent but malevolent. Saturn is the natural significator of death,
sickness, sorrow, pain, struggle and suffering.

A planet is first analyzed based on it’s planetary placement in the horoscope and then the
natural qualities are considered.

If you have a very strong and well placed Saturn in your horoscope then
Saturn can do wonders for you.

What is Saturn?

Saturn is a cold and dark planet which is farthest from the Sun (among the 9 planets in
Indian astrology).

According to the Indian mythology, Saturn is known as Karmfal DaWill Kerala and
West Bengal become the next Jammu and Kashmir?

Neha Reddy, Sr Media Advisor (2011-present)

Answered Apr 9
Not another Kashmir because both are very different places with different sets of
challenges.

West Bengal is in news for the wrong reasons in the national media now more than I
have ever seen in the last 20 years.

Now, what has changed? What are the BJP’s complaints against the WB state
government:
1. There have been multiple scams which have seen ministers, MLAs, MPs in jail,
under continuous CBI probe etc.
2. TMC browbeats, traumatizes their political opponents.
3. The state government has not been able to provide proper growth in WB. There
has been no headway made towards economic, industrial or financial
prosperity.
4. The state government has not been able to govern the state properly, there have
been multiple major cases of communal riots and violence in Darjeeling.
5. The state government’s policy is to appease the Muslim minority vote bank by
turning a blind eye towards crimes committed by them, especially during
communal violence.
The state government, in turn, complains that BJP is trying to get a political foothold in
West Bengal by inciting communal violence. They are provoking reactions from the
minorities, blowing up any case of communal riots where Hindus are harmed and trying
to scare the Hindu majority vote bank.

Now that we have laid the problems... I am pretty sure that your question and the
comparison with Kashmir is related to point# 5.

You see, WB is not going to be a Kashmir because first of all there is a majority
population of Hindus, Christians and even Muslims who want to remain in India and
have nothing to gain by moving away.

Secondly, the problem and struggle in WB are essentially political.

Thirdly, believe it or not, WB is much more important to India than Kashmir. It’s one of
the 4 nerve centres of the Indian republic.

West Bengal is not just one state, as far as the Indian security goes WEST BENGAL IS
NINE STATES.

Look at the Indian map below. If Bengal falls, Sikkim, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya,
Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur and Nagaland will be cut-off from the rest of
India with a gaping hole.

ata, the one who gives you fruits/results of your karmas. Saturn can see your past and
present, and defines your future/destiny based on your past actions.

To please Saturn one should simply do good karmas, be responsible and hardworking.

Saturn is your guide and a teacher who teaches you in the harsh ways.

Learning from your own experiences and taking right actions is the best way to gain good
results from Saturn.

What is a Dasha?

Dasha is a time period or span of time.

In Hindu Astrology, Vimshottari Dasha is considered to be most important. In a

Vimshottari Dasha there are 120 years. These 120 years are distributed in 9 unequal
parts each belongs to one planet. Each part is called as a Mahadasha (Main Time
Period). Each Mahadasha is divided into 9 unequal parts called Antardasha (Sub Time
Period). Each Antardasha is divided into 9 unequal parts called Paryantardasha (Sub-
Sub Time Periods).

Saturn’s Mahadasha is 19 years long.

A planet gives results in two ways:

1. Due to its placement in the horoscope it always controls certain aspects of your
life.
2. When the time periods of the planet operates.
What if Saturn is not well placed in a horoscope?

Saturn can be the most destructive planet in one’s horoscope if ill placed.

Saturn In a horoscope signifying bad houses, 6th, 8th and 12th, can make you feel
depressed, sad, troubled and suppressed. Aspect of Mars on such placed Saturn can
further make the situation worse. The person will get into depression and will also
become highly aggressive.

Jupiter’s aspect or conjunction is not always beneficial. Jupiter is expansion. If you have
an ill placed Saturn and Jupiter aspects/joins it, you can expect more problems in your
life. Jupiter will increase your troubles manifolds.

Saturn is the natural significator of bad health, if Saturn in your horoscope is not
well placed then there are bright chances that you will get hospitalized in the time period
of Saturn.

Now, it depends on the strength of your ascendant and placement of other planets
whether you will get hospitalized at a very early age or later in life. If your ascendant &
other planets are strong and you are young then you will fall sick instead of getting
hospitalized. If you are going through a bad main time period (Mahadasha) and Saturn’s
sub time period (Antardasha) starts, then hospitalization is again possible.

Saturn signifies struggles, if Saturn is not very positive in your horoscope then it can
delay the achievement of goals or can pull you down. If you are into business then an ill
placed Saturn can make you suffer heavy losses and make you go bankrupt.

Saturn is a separative planet. Saturn has the ability to separate you from your loved
ones. Saturn in your horoscope can make you travel far from your family, the reason
could be anything depending on what Saturn signifies in the horoscope. Saturn can give
you a sense of disconnection from the people and make you feel alone.

What if Saturn is strong and positive in your horoscope?

Saturn is the significator of property. These days real estate is a big business and it
is a common man’s dream to build an ideal house or buy one at some premium location.
In every 5 to 10 years, the rate of property gets doubled and owning properties brings
you a lot of money whether you sell or rent your property.

If Saturn in your horoscope is positive for financial matters then the chances are bring
that the Saturn will help you making gains through investing in properties or becoming
successful in real estate business.
Mars and Saturn are the significators of property, some people also believe that Mars
rules over lands while Saturn is the significator of constructed property or construction
but when it is property purchase, I have seen the influence of any planet works.

Saturn signifies hard work and will open ways to success. A strong Saturn in
your horoscope will make you work hard and will bring you success through your
consistent hard work. Such people see early success in their life.

Saturn signifies confusion and makes a person stupid but if Saturn is positive in your
horoscope then these negative effects of Saturn vanish and you are able to act
intelligently in life.

Saturn will save you from divorce/separation. As explained earlier, how Saturn
separates you from your family. If Saturn is positive in your horoscope then separation
from the family or divorce will not happen in your life because positive placement of
Saturn will suppress the negative significations of Saturn.

Saturn gives you physical strength and valour. Harsh planets like Saturn, Mars
and Rahu, makes you strong, brave and courageous when they are well placed in your
horoscope. 3rd and 6th house are the important houses here. The effect of these planets
on these houses makes a person physically strong.

Saturn makes you good at money management. Saturn signifies control and
contraction. If Saturn is well placed in a horoscope then you are able to manage your
expenses or for someone else’s and help them save money. Saturn and Mercury both
show similar results when well placed. If any one of them sits in the Ascendant then the
person spends money very carefully.

A well placed Saturn is a boon for any horoscope!

It is said that everything in this world is material. Besides, the outer space too is material as it
consists of the fundamental units of matter like the atoms and molecules. In fact, as per the
psychologists, even our abstract mental processes like thoughts, feelings and emotions are
composed of basic structural & functional units.

Scientific Knowledge Vs Traditional Wisdom

Thus, materiality pervades anything and everything. Accordingly, the mainstream and
conventional scientific wisdom holds that there is nothing beyond matter, energy, space and
time. Everything falls in one of these four categories or are at the most derived from one of them
or from their combination. It is here that the most glaring ideological fault -line comes into
existence. Many traditions, philosophies and religions opine that there exists something very
formidable beyond the normal and mundane perception in sharp contrast to the view held by
science.

Heaven & Hell, A Spiritual Necessity

The perception towards this unseen reality varies from tradition to tradition. However, there is a
broad consensus among the major belief systems. The belief in good conduct, the need for
happiness and the final predicament for the good & bad people forms the core of most of the
religious and philosophical traditions. It is here that the concept of heaven and hell come into the
picture. It is stated that life can not be complete without practising spiritual truths. It is also
stated that spirituality cannot be comprehensive without believing in heaven and hell. Do you
want to know about your future? Avail the 2019 Highlights Report.

Indian Tradition On Heaven & Hell

Indeed, karma begets the perception of good & bad which can only be substantiated by the
existence of heaven (a destination where good souls enjoy) and hell (a place where the evil
souls suffer). For most people, the concept of heaven & hell is too far fetched & mysterious.
Well, the mystery of the universe and that of existence is well documented in the many
scriptures of Hindu mythology. All beings that reside within the universe, do so in different
realms within it. These realms or worlds are known as Lokas. Read on and know about them:

The 14 Lokas Of Hinduism

What are the 14 Lokas In Hindu Mythology
Hindu mythology defines fourteen worlds (not to be confused with planets) – seven higher
worlds (heavens) and seven lower ones (underworlds). (The earth is considered the lowest of
the seven higher worlds.) The higher worlds are the 7 Vyahrtis and lower worlds the 7 Patalas.
Read on to know more:

The 7 Vyahrtis (Heavens or Upperworlds):

1 Satya-Loka: Brahma’s Loka or Satya-Loka planetary system is not eternal. Abode of Truth or
of Brahma, where atman are released from the necessity of rebirth.

2 Tapa-Loka: Abode of tapas or of other deities. Ayohnija Devadas live here.

3 Jana-Loka: Abode of the sons of God Brahma.

4 Mahar-Loka: The abode of great sages and enlightened beings like Markendeya and other
rishis.

5 Svar-Loka: Region between the sun and polar star, the heaven of the god Indra. Indra,
Devatas, Rishies, Gandharvas and Apsaras live here: a heavenly paradise of pleasure, w here all
the 330 million Hindu gods (Deva) reside along with the king of gods, Indra.

6 Bhuvar-Loka (aka Pitri Loka): Sun, planets, stars. Space between earth and the sun, inhabited
by semi-divine beings. It is a real region, the atmosphere, the life-force.

7 Bhur-Loka: The Vishnu Purana says that the earth is merely one of the thousands of billions of
inhabited worlds like itself to be found in the universe.

The 7 Patalas (Underworlds Or Hell):

1 Atala-Loka: Atala is ruled by Bala – a son of Maya – who possesses mystical powers. By one
yawn, Bala created three types of women – svairiṇīs , who like to marry men from their own
group; kāmiṇīs, who marry men from any group, and the puḿścalīs.

2 Vitala-Loka: Vitala is ruled by the god Hara-Bhava – a form of Shiva, who dwells with
attendant ganas including ghosts and goblins as the master of gold mines. The residents of this
realm are adorned with gold from this region.

3 Sutala-Loka: Sutala is the kingdom of the pious demon king Bali.

4 Talatala-Loka: Talātala is the realm of the demon-architect Maya, who is well-versed in

sorcery. Shiva, as Tripurantaka, destroyed the three cities of Maya but was later pleased with
Maya and gave him this realm and promised to protect him.

5 Mahatala-Loka: Mahātala is the abode of many-hooded Nagas (serpents) – the sons of Kadru,
headed by the Krodhavasha (Irascible) band of Kuhaka, Taksshaka, Kaliya and Sushena. They
live here with their families in peace but always fear Garuda, the eagle -man.

6 Rasatala-Loka: Rasātala is the home of the demons – Danavas and Daityas, who are mighty
but cruel. They are the eternal foes of Devas (the gods). They live in holes like serpents.
7 Patala-Loka: The lowest realm is called Patala or Nagaloka, the region of the Nagas, ruled by
Vasuki. Here live several Nagas with many hoods. Each of their hood is decorated by a jewel,
whose light illuminates this realm.

What importance do Deva, Manushya and Rakshasa Gana hold

in Kundali?
Elango Muthu vijayan, studied Astrology
Answered Jun 17

Gana matching is one of the important factors that is considered while matching two
horoscopes before marriage. In simple term, the Gana represents nature and
temperament of a person. Since marriage is a social institution where 2 people come
together to lead life the temperament of an individual is very important for a smoother
relationship.

Classifications of Gana

Deva Gana - Represents goodness in nature and character

Rakshasa Gana - Represents dominance and violence
Manusha Gana - Represents human nature, ie; the mix of good and bad.
What is the rule for compatibility?

The general rule of thumb is that each Gana can marry same Gana ie; Deva is compatible
with Deva, Manusha with Manusha and Rakshasa with Rakshasa. Rakshasa man can
marry Deva or Manusha girl. The important rule is that Manusha or deva boy shouldn’t
be marrying Rakshasa girl unless there are other neutralizing factors in the horoscope.

Apply these in the modern context

Though the above rules are mentioned in the Vedic text, an astrologer should carefully
apply them in the modern context. In the modern era, Women are empowered with a
self-sustaining lifestyle, so marriage shouldn’t be denied just because of mismatch of
Gana. The Gana matching is just one factor in the match making the process, an
astrologer should have a holistic view on the horoscope and make an appropriate
decision in the matchmaking.
