Blacka 9-Innovation

This piece was composed by J.S Bach. The Suite No. 1 for unaccompanied cello is a
15-minute distillation of everything that makes Bach's music awesome: inventive
harmonies, mind-blowing counterpoint and — always in Bach — something spiritual.

In my perspective, this piece was beyond life, death, and humanity. I felt a lot of
emotions. The piece had very rich texture and noted for their emotional resonance.
Moonlight Sonata is composed by beethoven. It is a very famous classical piece
because it communicates a story without lyrics. It is a piano sonata. The name
“Moonlight Sonata” is given by the German music critic and poet Ludwig Rellstab five
years after Beethoven’s death, for that moonlight shining effect in the first
movement.

The first movement was played very quietly. It was more like an introduction. The
second movement is getting a little bit faster, and sounds more lively than the first
movement which sounds depressing and lonely. Beethoven placed the most
important final stormy movement in the last. This movement, as what Charles Rosen
said, is ” the most unbridled in its representation of emotion. Even today, two
hundred years later, its ferocity is astonishing.” The writing of this movement
contains lots of strongly accented notes and dynamic changes. Beethoven used
crescendo a lot to move the passage from piano to fortissimo and to create the
sense of a very powerful sound. In the third movement I felt panic and intensity
running to my veins.

What I like about this is that as the dynamic changes throughout the whole music.
And the emotion goes from quiet to strong and powerful.

He composed this sonata in 1801, when his deafness was getting serious.
Beethoven was also madly in love with Giulietta whom he had hopes of getting
married into. The depressive state which was afflicting Beethoven at this time was
well reflected in the sombre, funeral tone of the first movement, which has nothing to
do with any romantic notions of moonlight. While I was playing this piece, I could feel
that Beethoven was narrating his own story. Although there’s no lyrics, we can still
interpret the meaning behind it.

Concerto for two violins in a minor RV522 was composed by vivaldi. Antonio Vivaldi's
Op. 3, is a set of 12 concertos for stringed instruments, first published in Amsterdam
in 1711. Vivaldi's Twelve Trio Sonatas, Op. 1, and Twelve Violin Sonatas, Op. 2, only
contained sonatas, thus L'estro armonico was his first collection of concertos
appearing in print. It was also the first time he chose a foreign publisher, Estienne
Roger, instead of an Italian. Each concerto was printed in eight parts: four violins,
two violas, cello and continuo.

The violins made this piece flow and sound alive. This piece was very italian and
luxurious.
Clair de lune, meaning moonlight, was written by the Impressionist French
composer Claude Debussy.Claude Debussy started wrote the incredibly
romantic piano piece Clair de Lune in 1890 when he was just 28, but it wasn’t
published for another 15 years.

It has a romantic tune to it, it actually reminded me of the movie twilight. And it
was actually featured in that movie. In all honesty, this tune made me sleepy
when I first heard it. This song made me feel like it wanted me to reminisce a
memory of a previous relationship with, but I can’t do that, because I never had
one. Maybe if I did have one, memories would be remembered.
Carmen was composed by Bizet. Carmen, opera in four acts by French
composer Georges Bizet—with a libretto in French by Henri Meilhac and
Ludovic Halévy—that premiered on March 3, 1875. With a plot based on the
1845 novella of the same name by Prosper Mérimée, Bizet’s Carmen was
groundbreaking in its realism, and it rapidly became one of the most
popular Western operas of all time.

In my opinion, Maria Callas was the best soprano who sang this piece. She
sang this with so much control, and power. This music reminded me of
Tom and Jerry. This music made me feel like I was on a cartoon running
away from a villain in a comedic scene.
