will utilize what you have learned after graduating?

In my second year, I would be majoring in Finance and Accounting, which will cover many crucial areas
for my future career. Therefore, I am determined to become proficient in the Accounting subject since it
serves as the basis for other economic classes. Besides, APU offers many excellent language classes and I
would take my opportunity to study Chinese and Spanish, which would make myself more marketable
for my future employment.

For the following years, according to my plans, I would apply for an exchange program to Germany in my
second year to acquire more in-depth academic knowledge and working experience. Most recently, I
joined a session of internship programs organized by major Japanese corporations and I took great
interest in those offered by Panasonic Corporation and Japan Airlines Co., Ltd. After graduation from
APU, I envision myself having completed my internship program and become a full-time worker in
Japan.

Write about the extracurricular activities you actively worked in at the university. Also, write
down the challenges faced in the activity and what efforts were made to solve it.

During my second semester, I am participating in the Business Case training class with a view to
enhancing my knowledge of the general business management. Although it is a non-curriculum class,
Business Case requires equal efforts invested. After meticulously crafting demonstrative presentation
slides, I was required to present to the professor and other group members. The experience was quite
challenging. However, thanks to the encouragement from my friends and honest feedback from the
professsor, I gained my confidence in my presenting skills. Once in a while, there would be a mini
workshop that gathers us to solve a business case to help us prepare for the upcoming Business Case
Competition (BCC). Two weeks ago, I also joined the Multicultural Camp. The camp was where I had a
chance to discover new friends, learn the power of diversity and discover my own strengths. The camp
has left me with unforgettable memories.

3. あなたが奨学金を希望する理由と、奨学金をどのようなことに使いたいと考えているのか書きなさい。
Write why you would like to receive the scholarship and what kind of things you would like to
use the scholarship for.
I believe I deserve to be a candidate for the scholarship granted by the Nikaido Scholarship Association
because I am a hard-working student who always try to achieve perfect academic performance as well
as an active member of many events held by APU.

Unfortunately, financial burdens have recently affected my studies. Although my family always gives me
financial support, they have many other expenses at home. Thus, I am prompted to work 18 hours a
week to cover my living expenses and the rest of the tuition fee. As a result, the time I invest in my
studying is remarkably reduced. Therefore, I would greatly appreciate a helping hand so I can work less
and concentrate more on my studies.

On August, I intend to apply for the position of Teacher Assistant for the English Summer Training.
Receiving this scholarship will definitely help me explore my potentials in assisting people.

Many scholarship-funding organizations share the same vision: provide support and guidance to
individuals with excellent academic performance yet are facing economic problems. The Nikaido
Scholarship Association was not an exception. Established in June 2005, Nikaido Society has been
recognized as a public-interest corporation concerning matters that take place in Oita Prefecture since
April 1st, 2011. In line with this recognition, the Nikaido Scholarship Association has been making many
efforts to develop human resources to build a bridge of international exchange between the Oita
prefecture and other nations. By sudsidizing potential students who are struggling on their academic
path, Nikaido has been successful in expediting the advancement of Oita Prefecture’s education and
internationalization. Thanks to the aid of Nikaido Scholarship Association, talented people can
concentrate more on their academic pursuit. Fully aware of the Nikaido Society’s goal, I would commit
myself to taking advantage of the opportunity offered by this scholarship.
