Course Title: Religious Education 1


Course Content: Contemporary Moral Issues
Course Description: This course will introduce the learners to a comprehensive understanding
of the contemporary moral issues recognizing the value and sacredness of the human, marriage
and family life. It will describe the uniqueness of living a Christian moral life, providing them
with a framework of values that is faithful to the Gospel and teachings of the Church. Aware of
the greatness of this gift, comes also the reality of threats and challenges that faces the human
person. Thus, offering the basis for the moral act and the relevance of these issues in their daily
experiences in school, at home and in the community that will explore the relationship between
their lives as persons and as God’s creatures enabling them to make good moral decisions.

First Semester

Course Content: The Social Teachings of the Church
Course Description: The purpose of this course is to introduce the learners to the Church's
Social Teaching. In this course, they learn how Christ's concern for others, especially the poor
and needy, is present in the Church's social teachings and mission. It will begin with Jesus’ vision
of what Human Society is, including His message of justice, love, peace and integrity of creation.

particularly in the public school. This offers the students to appreciate and embrace work as an
expression of self – enrichment, mission, community service and involvement.
