History

Major Requirements
(1) Total credit requirements by track
- Multiple Major Track: Min. of 36 credits
- Major Concentration Track and Practical Major Track: Min. of 48 credits
- Teacher Training Track: Min. 50 credits
(2) Required courses (14 credits):
a. All the students majoring in history are required to take a course of the
Introduction to History(HIS2006).
b. Two (or more subjects) among HIS2003, HIS2004 and HIS2005. If more
than 6 credits are taken, up to 3 credits may be recognized as general
major courses.
c. All the students majoring in history are required to take 2 courses among
Cultural Heritage Field Education 1,2,3,4(HIS3070~3073). The students
taking 2 courses or more can replace the rest of Cultural Heritage Field
Education subjects with general subjects of major.
d. All the students majoring in history are required to take one course as
general subject among HIS4005, HIS4006, HIS4007, HIS4010, HIS4011,
HIS4017, and HIS4018. The students taking 2 courses or more of reading
course can replace the rest subjects excluding one of at least one major
required course with major advanced subject of major.
(3) Multiple majors are required to take a minimum of 36 credits, inclu-
ding 14 required and 22 general major courses.
(4) Concentration majors and Practical majors are required to take a mini-
mum of 48 credits, including 14 required, 22 general major and 12
major concentration courses. 6 credits among advanced subjects can be
replaced with general subjects.
(5) Students in the education training program are required to take a mini-
mum of 50 credits, including 14 required, and 6 practical major
courses.
(6) All majors are required to take 6 credits in Korean history, 6 in Asian
history, 6 in Western history
(7) Among other majors, the two following courses are recognized as history
major courses.
- REL3022 = HIS3041
- PHI3033, PHI3034, PHI3035 or PHI3036 = HIS3056
- ECO2011 = HIS3063
- PHI3003 = HIS3065

- One subject or more among Reading Korean History, Reading Oriental
History, and bibliographical notes on Western History Masterpiece(3 credits)
2. Credit required to acquire the course for advanced major and the course
designated for the practicality
- Required to have a total of 48 credits or more including Basic of Major 9
credits, General of Major 22 credits, Advanced of Major 12 credits
