Rs 47,000 cr released to increase green cover


 Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate
Change Prakash Javadekar handed over Rs 47,000 crore
from Compensatory Afforestation Fund to various states.
 This was done as a major step towards increasing
afforestation in the country.
 The fund will be utilized for the compensatory
afforestation, catchment area treatment, wildlife
management, natural regeneration, etc.
HUA launched 'Angikaar campaign'
 The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry launched
the 'Angikaar campaign'.
 It is aimed at bringing beneficiaries of PMAY (urban) into
the fold of other central schemes such as Ujjawala and
