 Low Frequency Response
• To determine the low frequency gain or transfer function of the
common source amplifier, the effect of ro on the low frequency
operation of amplifier is minor, hence it is removed.

• The high frequency capacitors like Cgs and Cgd are behaving like
perfect open circuits at low frequency.
CS Amplifier with CC1, CC2 & CS.

• The circuit is a CS amplifier. It has three capacitors.

• Hence three time constants and three break-frequencies.

• The transfer function can be arrived at by expressing Vg in

terms of VSig and Id in terms of Vg and Io in terms of Id finally Vo
in terms of Id .
