Luke 15:1-10 New International Version (NIV)
The Parable of the Lost Sheep
15 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all gathering around to hear Jesus. 2 But the Pharisees and the

teachers of the law muttered, “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” 3 Then Jesus told them this
parable: 4 “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine
in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? 5 And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his
shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have
found my lost sheep.’ 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner
who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Synthesis: Sometimes in our life, we find ourselves lost in the diverse world we live in. We tried to fit ourselves to fit
ourselves in the life of others and later on, we find ourselves finding our own identity. There are also times that
we get attached to worldly thing which later on we get controlled by these things. And we these, we lost our
sense of direction and purpose in life. We tend to forget who we really are, a child of God whom he have
loved right until now and even from the time when we were born. God wants us to come back to His loving
arms, those who are misled, gone astray, and lost their sense direction in their life. And in order to do such, we
must humbly present ourselves to God, ask pardon and mercy, and acknowledge His as our Father. Thus, He
assures us that He will not abandon us and He will do everything to bring us back in His loving embrace.
