Types of Forces
I. Objectives
b. Appreciate the importance of the Lesson and relate it to real life situation

Revised Edition) pp. 229-235 Types of Forces
d. Valuing/ Insight: We cannot see force, but we can feel and see its effects on the
different materials around us.

What is Force?
Give examples
3. Introduction of Lesson
They will arrange the Jumbled Letters to form the two (2) main kinds of
Forces.
Contact Forces
Non-contact Forces
4. Discussion
The teacher will show the different kinds of forces, the students will match the
given types of forces to the main type of forces.
Contact Forces- forces that need to be in direct contact with the object in order to
apply force on it
4. Air Resistance Force- acts on objects as they travel through the air. This
force will oppose motion, but only factors in when object travel at high speeds
or have a large surface area.
5. Tension Force- passes through strings, cables, ropes, or wire when they are
being pulled in opposite directions.
Non-contact Forces- are forces that do not need to be in direct contact with an
object in order to be applied.

1. The students will fill out the concept map

The teacher will give examples the students will identify what kind of force being
applied on the given examples.
