Difficulties and Needs in Anatomy Drawing Lesson on Graphic Design

Illustration Class

Art student nowadays is inclined to skip the learning process and only intend to jump directly to
the final product. Drawing lesson on illustration, subject is in crisis, with the younger generation who
are lack of observation and concentration while on a class. This step leads them tend to recycle the old
design and inclined presenting a tired executions. This study was mean to identify the Art and Design
student difficulties for GDT156 course (Illustration) and determine the needs of supporting material in
class. Illustration is one of the major subjects in Graphic Design courses. This study is focusing on the
Anatomy drawing lesson, based from both side student and lecturer. This is a small preliminary case
study conducted through a dual instrument. Data was collected through a Semi- Structured Interview
with six (6) expert and a questionnaire from 60 students. The respondent study is from the Faculty of
Art & Design UiTM Melaka. Based on both of the analysis, the results show that there is an
observation problem occurs, and needs for the supporting material in class.
