External parts

1. The computer's Monitor, or screen, is the window into the workings

of the computer. Its visual display allows for a visual interpretation of
all that is happening.

2. The Keyboard allows typed input into the computer. It has buttons for
all the letters of the alphabet as well as numbers, symbols and special
function keys
3. The Mouse allows movement of the cursor on the screen. It allows the
selection of icons and links much more quickly and smoothly than
the keyboard.
4. The CD/DVD drive allows for CDs/DVDs to be read by the computer so
that the information stored on the can be handled accordingly. Although
rapidly being deemed to be too outdated for general usage, Floppy
drives have been used longer than any other of this type of media. USB
drives are quickly becoming the storage/input device of choice because of
their reliability, speed and ease of use.

5. Printers and scanners, although not necessary for the overall

function of a computer, are helpful tools that allow for document
management, whether that be uploading a document into

Peripheral
the computer using the scanner or creating a document using
the printer.
A computer peripheral is a device that is connected to a computer but
is not part of the core computer architecture. The core elements of a
computer are the central processing unit, power supply, motherboard
and the computer case that contains those three components.
Technically speaking, everything else is considered a peripheral
device. However, this is a somewhat narrow view, since various other
elements are required for a computer to actually function, such as a
hard drive and random-access memory (or RAM).

Types of Peripheral
1. Input devices, such as a mouse and a keyboard
2. Output devices, such as a monitor and a printer
3. Storage devices, such as a hard drive or flash drive
Different Gadgets and the use
of it
1. The iPhone functions as a cell phone, so that you can make and
receive phone calls from others. You can also use the iPhone to send and
receive text messages, depending on your rate plan, receive emails, hear
music, take some pictures, play games and more

2. The Canon Ivy Mini Photo Printer This device allows you to print
peel-and-stick 2″ x 3″ photos from your smartphone and some social
media platforms.

3. Ideal for active, outdoor lifestyles, the portable JBL Charge speaker
fits into a backpack and plays from either a vertical or horizontal position,
so you can use it just about anywhere

4. the Apple watch is one apple’s latest “one more thing” was a
doozy: A high-tech watch that CEO Tim Cook hopes will “redefine
what people expect” from a wearable device. More. It can receive and
make calls and messages, use Siri, fitness tracker, listen to music many
more
5. Drones can carry sensing equipment to assist with any number of
functions. Geological surveying, agriculture, archeology, and several
other industries can benefit greatly from the myriad of sensors that
can be packed into a drone.

 5. Polaroids are used in the laboratory to produce and analyse

plane polarised light. Polaroids are widely used as polarising
sun glasses. They are used to eliminate the head light glare in
motor cars.
 They are used to improve colour contrasts in old oil paintings.
Internal and External parts of the
computer and Peripheral
Internal parts
1.The Motherboard is the main circuit board that all
other computer components either sit in or are connected
to.

2. The Processor is probably the most important internal part of

your computer, as it is where almost all of the computations
required to run the computer take place.

3. RAM (random access memory) is short-term memory, meaning that

it gets wiped out every time the computer loses power or gets reset, but
its speed of access makes it ideal for being the computer's primary
storage.
4.The hard drive of a computer is a device that stores all the software
installed on a computer, as well as all the data files created and used by
this software.

5. A video card connects to the motherboard of a computer system and

generates output images to display. Video cards are also referred to as
graphics cards.

6. An expansion slot is a socket on the motherboard that is used to

insert an expansion card (or circuit board), which provides additional
features to a computer such as video, sound, advanced graphics,
Ethernet or memory.
7. a power supply unit or PSU, the component that supplies power to
a computer. It regulates the voltage to eliminate spikes and surges
common in most electrical systems.
