1st – Brooding and Dangerous

By Daniel Fenton (Dark Comedy)

Performed By Lifford Players (Lifford ROI)
Young, ambitious Sid has been promised a new job at the local bank. Are
things finally going to go right for Sid? Unfortunately, not anytime soon. When
Sid's wife Margaret finds a rejection letter in the mailbox, she spills the beans
to the neighbors, and Sid collapses in emotional ruin. Moo-moo-wearing Mrs.
Getz and her agreeable son, Kenneth, step in. Mrs. Getz urges Sid not to get
down but to get even by robbing that bank. As they proceed with the plotting
and planning, Sid, Margaret, Mrs. Getz and Kenneth help us to realize that the
edge of insanity might be closer than we think!

2nd- "The Pot Boiler" by Alice Gerstenberg (Satire)

Performed By Moira Players (Moira)
The Pot Boiler is a classic of the American stage. It shows Mr. Sud
demonstrating how a truly great playwright (himself) constructs a play. For
blocking, he uses desktop items such as Mrs. Pencil, Mr. Ruler, Mr. and Miss
Ivory (letter openers, of course) and Mr. Inkwell. As he piles cliché upon cliché
and the melodramatic plot unfolds, it becomes obvious that this brilliant satire
might be describing one or more prominent playwrights of today.

Ribbon of Truth, by Kal Gibson.

2nd – The Last of the Last of the Mohicans

By Hugh Leonard (Comedy)
Performed By The Clarence Players (Belfast)

It is a hilarious farce, which tells the sorry tale of a night in the life of luckless,
middle-aged church furniture manufacturer, Dominic Studley. While Dominic's
loving wife Ita has departed on an overnight pilgrimage 'down the country' in
search of the blessings of St. Verilia, Dominic has seized the opportunity to
indulge in a quiet evening with flighty Grace, who is also the principal boy in
the local panto. Grace's pilot husband Seamus is conveniently marooned in
London courtesy of a baggage handlers' strike. Grace promptly arrives chez
Dominic with fellow Thespian, the reluctant Finbar, in tow as chaperone. All
goes reasonably well until the unexpected arrival of Ita, followed by
Seamus.....!! The final outcome isn't quite as Dominic had envisaged!
