To be eligible for entrance into the Master of Rehabilitation Medicine Programme, candidates must: possess a medical degree and be registered for medical practice with the Malaysian Medical Council; fulfill sponsoring body criteria; demonstrate English proficiency at the required level; have at least one year of clinical experience as a registered medical officer, preferably in internal medicine or surgery; and pass both the Medical Specialist Pre-entrance Examination and interview with the specialty board.

Selection Criteria for entrance into the Master of Rehabilitation Medicine Programme
Below are the minimum requirements. Candidates must:
1. Possess a medical degree (MD, MBBS, MBBCh or equivalent medical qualification). 2. Be registered for medical practice by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) under the Medical (Amendment) Act 2012 and Medical Regulations 2017. Non-Malaysian candidates must obtain a Temporary Practicing Certificate from MMC. 3. Fulfill the criteria set by their sponsoring body eg Ministry of Health, Universities etc. 4. Achieve an acceptable level of English proficiency (MUET / IELTS / TOEFL / OET) as defined by each university. 5. Successfully complete at least ONE (1) year of clinical experience as a fully registered medical officer, preferably in the field of internal medicine or surgery. The candidate should attain skills in managing emergency medical and surgical cases. It is an advantage if the candidate has an experience working in Rehabilitation Medicine and understand its interdisciplinary nature involving physiotherapist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, medical social officer and rehabilitation nurse. 6. Pass the Medical Specialist Pre-entrance Examination (MedEx). 7. Pass the interview process conducted by the specialty board.
