IDENTIFICATION OF THE PROBLEM

It’s believable that nowadays due to advanced technology; people can easily cope up with the
subjects. With this knowledge you will be able to know which learning style is the most effective
and essential.

According to virtualspeech.com, there are some different learning styles depending on the
situation. These are eight in total: visual learning style, aural learning style, verbal learning style,
social learning style, logical learning style, physical tactile learning style, solitary learning style
and tactile learning style. But among the eight learning styles, the most essential is Visual
learning style. Based on the various studies that the psychologytoday.com revealed, it can be
effective through guides or tools such as photos, illustrations, symbols, concept maps, sketches,
and figures. For example, you recognize the brand by seeing the visual graphic, even before
reading the name of the brand. This type of visual graphic can be so effective because people
easily to remember the logo and easily to identify it anywhere.

In comparison among the different learning styles, some of the teachers or trainers recommended
the Visual learning style because it is presented in the most creative way. It can be an animation
clips or slides. It can also help to make you tangible in making abstract concepts or difficult
concepts. It is more effective and long lasting.

Based upon research outcomes, the effective use of visuals can decrease learning time, improve
comprehension, enhance retrieval, and increase retention. People nowadays, struggles on school
because of the lack of time in studying due to loaded units or subjects.

The Pearson Group by Prentice hall e-Teach Program reveals the number of students that prefers
to use the visual learning style. Approximately of 65 percent of the population are visual learners
and its likely can find in several groups. Thus, Visual learning style reached the highest
percentage; auditory learning style reached 30 percent of the population and lastly, kinesthetic
learning style placed the least percentage among the given learning styles based on the article.
DATA GATHERING

In order to obtain the accurate data that gathered from 20 respondents, Questionnaire – Survey
Method is used. 10 Male respondents and 10 Female respondents have been answered the survey
through Facebook messenger. In this method, it provides evidence that visual learning style is
essential guide for the students.

Stated below are the information’s as well as their answers.

In the survey that has been conducted, Out of 20 respondents,

 15 out of 20 respondents answered VISUAL LEARNING STYLE. It is stated that this

learning style is very helpful by seeing concepts in diagram, charts, and pictures or
animation. It is very effective also because you are not just imagining what you are about
to learn, you are seeing it literally. And also, details can be learned in a faster way.
 3 out of 20 respondents answered SOCIAL LEARNING STYLE. It is stated that this
learning style, you can easily learn by interacting with different people and trade some
ideas that will make you more interested.
 1 out of 20 respondents answered LOGICAL LEARNING STYLE. It is stated that
this learning style helps you to think critically, and also can help you to exercise your
mind.
 1 out of 20 respondents answered TACTILE LEARNING STYLE. It is stated that this
learning style can help you to become hands on to the things you will learn. In order for
you to learn, you must do it.
FORMULATION OF HYPOTHESIS

Statistical evidence for formulating the hypothesis could potentially found in crossover –
interaction effects according to Karaline Aslaksen, one of the frontiers in psychology that visual
learners demonstrate improved learning if instruction is visual rather than auditory. Using the
Questioned – Survey Method, by computing the total number who prefers visual learning style,
the study shows you can explore more and choose to use the ones that they find very useful.

This paper will show the data gathered from 20 respondents, ages 18-25 years old that are using
different kinds of learning style. Figure 1, shows the percentage of how many male and females
using the different kinds of learning style. Female respondents in this figure shows that the
Visual learning is very essential to use because it pictures out the real definition of one’s
concept, Male respondents also prefer this kind of learning style but it differs from Female
respondents. Their answers divided into other kinds of learning style.

FIGURE 2

Figure 2, shows the percentage of ages 18 years old to 25 years old are using different kinds of
learning style. 18 years old chose Visual Learning Style as their guide because at the young age
or stage of learning they are capable of using this kind of method by seeing it visually such as
graphs, diagrams and pictures or animations, Social learning style got 3 percent of the whole
respondents while tactile learning style and logical learning style placed the least responders.

According to visual learners in studygurus.com, Visual learners are those who learn the best
through what they see. They learn by seeing or using graphical methods and mostly, they prefer
it when it is represented by visual aids, diagrams, and other visual study materials. Majority has
answered they want this kind of style because it can be used it easily and it is very common.
People can explore in different medium such as textbooks and flashcards rather than words –
increasing the strength of association in various concepts.
TEST THE HYPOTHESIS

Aside from Questionnaire – Survey Method, to know the accurate information about the result,
The Experimentation in this paper called Video Animation which is the time range is about 0-
2.08 minutes only. The video was all about “The Life of Water, Water which gives Life” The
dialogue or subtitle is not included in the video but most of the respondents have been answered
it easily and know the true essence of the video.

The questions from the survey are as follows:

There are different kinds of learning style, which one do you prefer?

 VISUAL LEARNING STYLE

 AURAL LEARNING STYLE
 VERBAL LEARNING STYLE
 SOCIAL LEARNING STYLE
 LOGICAL LEARNING STYLE
 TACTILE LEARNING STYLE
 SOLITARY LEARNING STYLE
 NATURALIST LEARNING STYLE

Before answering that question, you must have to watch the short animation about The Life
of Water, Water which gives Life.

15 percent of the respondents answered the Visual Learning Style is the most essential guide
after watching that video. It is very effective because even if without subtitles in the video,
they can visualize it by the actions of the animated waters. After watching the video, they
realize how powerful this kind of learning was. Even though they have their own learning
style, they prefer to choose it, most of the time.
CONCLUSION

The study proves that Visual Learning Style is the most essential guide among the students.
It helped to gain the data about the gender preferences, ages and different year levels and the
possible effect of different kinds of learning styles. The development of the different kinds of
style will help to choose which one was the best guide even if there is a unique and fast way
to learn, it could be within the self, the interaction with other people or with the use of
medium such as visual aids, photographs, diagrams, graphs, etc. Understanding the learning
style of students will help the trainers/teachers to select which appropriate method will use to
improve the academic performances and the achievement of each student. The findings of
this study provides a better understanding that each of the learning style preferences, Visual
Learning can help the development of educational interventions and enables the learners to
develop it in real world learning contexts.
