junnk food goes to jail
By Generose Anne C. De Torres
The evolution of junkfood cannot be denied from rural to urban
area, we can found it. For adults and young from a single peso we can
have one. A variety of flavor, we can choose such as sweet, salty, cheesy.
We can get the promising flavor we want but not the nutrition that our
body need.
Just because of this low cost price junk food, we can fill an empty
stomach; teenager and children get addicted, sooner or later suffered and
got sick. Ordinary diseases and infection fatal or not are believed to be
junkfood related some ingredients believed to be carcinogenic, harmful to
our vital organ.
Recently, DepEd ordered that all schools are not allowed to sells
food that can harm the health of each pupil. All canteens should follow
prohibiting selling junk food. The concerns here are the pupils, not the fund of
the school. Why there are some hard-headed schools that don’t follow, the
boss are the pupils. We must always look for the goodness of each of one of us.
Let’s do the battle, do our share.
Local and national government must act now. Save our future. Set
ordinances, agreement and punishment for those who still selling junkfood in
school. Junkfood cannot be stopped, but we can do something, react...lead...and
take an action.

Rebuilding Lives
After being devastated by the typhoon Yolanda, many victims face another
calamity; the prospect of long-term unemployment. The monster typhoon flattened
vast tracts of Leyte and Samar, destroying not only homes and infrastructure but also
trees that provided livelihood for thousands of families.
Fishing and trees production were two of the major sources of livelihood for the
communities of two provinces. Yolanda also disrupted fishing as people shied away
from catching anything from waters believed to have claimed thousands of lives at the
height of the typhoon.
One positive aspect of the latest tragedy is the overcoming amount of assistance
that has poured in from around the world for the typhoon-hit areas. The government
working with several sectors can help displaced farmers search other sources of livelihood
particularly in the communities where reconstruction is expected to be slow.
Yolanda’s victim welcome the aid that has started achieving them, but there is
always indefinitely when one is living on the kindness of others. Restoring victims’ capacity
to support themselves and their families is indispensable in rebuilding lives.
