the income elasticity with respect to health care expenditure is less than one thus in the developing

countries health related aspects are seems to be necessity rather than luxury. The rising population and
poor health facilitation provided by government may cause high mortality rate in Pakistan.

Introduction:

There are generally two stands of views about the impact of population growth on
economic development. one view opposing population growth that population growth is
real problem while the other view is in favor of population growth. Both viewers present
argument for their views.

1- The first view of population growth and economic development started from the
Malthusian population trap is the well-known theory of the relationship between
population growth and economic development. It argue based on population poverty
cycle theory.

It states; “Rapid population growth gives way to negative economics


consequences and this should be a real concern for the developing countries
because population growth retards prospects of a better life for the already born
by reducing savings state at the household and national level”.

2- Secondly population is desirable not a problem. it is one of the basic factors of


production

It states; “growth is real strength and power of a country. High population


growth means high labor supply that leads to division of labor and economic
growth”.
