2. Execute the steps or figures of Cha-Cha Ballroom Dance.

3. Explain the importance of Cha-Cha Ballroom Dance.

II. Subject Matter:

Topic : Cha-Cha Ballroom Dance

Subtopic : Steps or Figures of Cha-Cha

Materials : Wide Screen, Laptop, Speaker, HDMI, Stick,

Projector.

References : Physical Education Asian and Latin Social Dances

(p.143-149)

The Learner demonstrates understanding of Physical Fitness sustaining active

The learner demonstrates understanding of the benefits that the individual can
apply from participating in indoor recreational activity.

Okay so one of the country in Latin


America is Cuba wherein Cha-Cha Dance
originated.

For you to have an overview about


the ballroom dance of Cuba I will let you to
watch a video presentation.

presentation.)

presentation, What can you say about
Cuba? Possible Answer:
 They show different culture
 It is a good place as a tourist spot

comes to their dance?

Based on the video presentation


that you have watched, What do you think Ma’am, I think our topic for today
is our topic for today? is all about steps or figures of Cha Cha
dance originated in Cuba.

Today, we will discuss about the


steps of Cha-cha and execute its figures

2.2 ACTIVITY

‘MOVE TO GROOVE 2018’

Okay, everybody stand and we will


be having a warm-up exercise. Let’s jog in
place for 10 counts and Jumping jacks for
another count.

All you have to do is initiate the dance


that is being shown in the wide screen.
All students are expected to participate in
the said dance and the group who have
the good presentation and execution of
dance will receive a good grade.

2.2 ANALYSIS

2.2 ABSTRACTION

Since you already know the basic


steps of Cha-Cha I will demonstrate the
steps one by one after that you will dance
also and perform the said dance to the
whole class!

Let’s start the 1st Figure

Man: Place your right hand on the


women’s back with the hand over the left
shoulder blade, with the other hand, hold
the women’s right hand at the eye level.
The elbows should be up and about a foot
apart from each other.

Women: Place your left hand on the


outside of the man’s right shoulder, with
your arm top on his. With the other hand,
hold the man’s left hand at your eye level.
Elbows should be up and about a foot
apart the man. The woman slightly to the
right of the man so that when they step
forward and back, their knees don’t hit.

 A. Man:

Count "Two": Take one step forward with


your left foot, placing all your weight on
that foot
Count "Three": Replace your weight onto
your right foot
Woman:
Count "Two": Take one step backward
onto your right foot, placing all your weight
onto that foot
Count "Three": Replace your weight onto
the left foot.

 B. Another Break Step (Counts Two-and-

Three)

 Man:

Count "Two": Take one step back with


your right foot, placing all your weight on
that foot
Count "Three": Replace your weight onto
your left foot

 Woman:

Count "Two": Take one step forward onto


your left foot, placing all your weight onto
that foot.
Count "Three": Replace your weight onto
the right foot

C. Another Cha-Cha-Cha (Counts Four-


and-One)

 Man:

Count "Four": Step to the right with your


right foot about shoulder width from your
left foot
Count "and": Bring your left foot to your
right
Count "One": Take another step to the
right with your right foot about a shoulder's
width from your left foot

Woman:
Count "Four": Step to the left with your left
foot about shoulder width from your right
foot
Count "and": Bring your right foot to your
left foot
Count "One": Take another step to the left
with your left foot about a shoulder's width
from your right foot.
2.4 APPLICATION

As we proceed, You are here to share and


to show your hidden talents in dancing,

With the same group, you’re going to


perform the dance of Cha-Cha with the
proper execution, Unity as a group and
timing, I will give you 10 minutes to
practice and prepare to the said activity.

You will be graded based on the following
