Industrial Visits

1. M/s. Rail Wheel Factory, Bangalore

An Industrial Visit was undertaken to M/s. Rail Wheel Factory for 6th Semester students on the
3rd of May. A tour of the Shop floor with various aspects of the production of Wheels and Axles
for Railway application, including casting of metal Rail Wheels and Hammer Forging process
for the production of Rail Axles were shown to the students.

2. M/s. Scania Commercial Vehicles India Private Limited, Bangalore

An Industrial Visit to M/s. Scania Commercial Vehicles was organized for 8th Semester students
on the 12th of May. Various aspects related to Assembly and Testing of Heavy vehicles were
highlighted during the tour of the factory.

 3. M/s. SAP Labs, Bangalore

5th SEM IEM Students at SAP Labs, Bangalore

As part of the continuing Industry-Institute liaison, about forty 5th Semester IEM students undertook an
Industrial Visit to M/s. SAP Labs, Bangalore on 30th October, 2014. Exposure was gained on the

challenges faced and meeting customer requirements
Design Thinking, etc.

4. M/s. HAL Engine Division, Bangalore

3rd SEM Students at M/s. HAL-Engine Division, Bangalore

About 40 3rd SEM Students undertook an Industrial Visit to M/s. HAL – Engine Division, Bangalore on
29th Nov, 2014. The students have gained exposure to various aspects of Jet Engine Manufacturing,
Assembly and Testing.
 5. Industrial Visit to M/s. Volvo Construction Equipment, Bangalore

8th Sem Students at M/s. Volvo Construction Equipment, Bangalore

About 67 8th SEM Students undertook an Industrial Visit to M/s. Volvo Construction
Equipment, Bangalore on 27th March, 2015. The faculty members who accompanied them were
Ms. Disha M. Nayak and Shri Mayur Appaiah. The students have gained exposure to various
aspects of Earth Moving Equipment Production, Assembly and Testing.
6. Industrial Visit to M/s. ACE Designers, Bangalore

8th Sem Students at M/s. ACE Designers, Bangalore

About 66 8th SEM Students undertook an Industrial Visit to M/s. ACE Designers, Bangalore on
9th April, 2015. The faculty members who accompanied them were Ms. Disha M. Nayak and
Shri Mayur Appaiah. The students have gained exposure to various aspects of Machine Tool and
Machining Center Production, Assembly and Testing.

7. Industrial Visit to M/s. Kennametal, Bangalore

8th Sem Students at M/s. Kennametal, Bangalore

An Industrial Visit was undertaken for the 8th Semester Students of IEM Department on 15th
April, 2015 to M/s. Kennametal Ltd, located on Tumkur Road, Bangalore. Accompanying them
was the faculty, Smt. V.N. Shailaja and Ms. Disha M. Nayak. About 63 students took part in the
visit. Exposure on various aspects of production of Cutting Tools, Tool Bits, Abrasive Wheels,
etc. was gained.
8. Industrial Visit to M/s. Hindustan Coca-Cola Ltd., Bangalore

An Industrial Visit was undertaken for the 8th Semester Students of IEM Department on 17th
April, 2015 to M/s. Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Ltd, located in Bidadi on the outskirts of
Bangalore. Accompanying them was the faculty, Shri Mayur Appaiah and Shri Prathap (IEM
Department). About 67 students took part in the visit. Exposure on various aspects of cleaning,
bottling and packaging of beverages was gained.
