Flower part Function

Anther Produces pollen grains and stores them In pollen sacs

Filament Holds the anther up

Stigma Receives pollen grains

Style Connects the stigma to the ovary

Ovary Protects the ovule and becomes the fruit after fertilisation has taken place

Ovule Becomes the seed after fertilisation has taken place

Petal Attracts pollinators such as birds and insects to the flower

Flower Stalk Holds the flower up so that it can be easily detected by pollinators

Plant Parts Functions

Roots 1. Holds the plant firmly to the soil
2. Absorbs water and minerals from the soil
Stem 1. Supports the branches and leaves

Leaf 1. Makes food for the plant

2. Allows gases to go in and out of the leaves

Type of tubes Run From To Function(s)

Water-Carrying Roots Other parts of the plant 1. Transport water and minerals
tubes (xylem) 2. Supports the plant
Food-carrying Leaves Other parts of the plant 1. Transport food
tubes (phloem)

Male Reproductive System Female Reproductive System
-Testes (singular: testis) develop and -Ovaries develop and produce female reproductive
produce male reproductive cells called cells called eggs or ova (singular: ovum)
sperms
-The penis helps to transfer the sperms -An egg is usually released from one of the ovaries
into the female body each month
-The womb is where a fertilised egg develops
-The vagina is a muscular tube leading from the
womb out of the female body.

Human Parts Function

System
Digestive - Breaks down food into simple substances
System
- Absorbs digested food, nutrients, minerals and water
to be used by the body

-Stores undigested food until it is removed

Respiratory -Nose -Takes in air (oxygen) into the body

System -Windpipe
-lungs -Removes air (carbon dioxide) from the body

Circulatory -Heart -Transports oxygen, digested food, nutrients, minerals

system -Blood Vessels and water to different parts of the body
-Blood
-transports waste materials away from other parts of the
body

Skeletal -bones such as the skull, ribs -supports the body and gives it shape
System and backbone
-protects delicate organs like the heart and lungs

Muscular -muscles in the body -enables different parts of the body to move

part Function
Nose 1. Allows air to enter and leave the body

2. Contains hair and mucus to trap the dirt in the air

3. Air that passes through is also warmed and moistened

windpipe 1. Transfers the air from the nose to the air tubes

Air tubes 1. Windpipe branches into two smaller air tubes

2. Transport the air to the lungs

lungs 1. Contains air sacs

2. Allows exchange of gases in the air sacs

3. Pick up oxygen from inhaled air

4. Passes carbon dioxide into exhaled air

1. have a rich supply of blood vessels

2. this increases the surface area for exchange of gases

3. absorb oxygen

4. oxygen passes through the walls of sacs into the blood vessels

5. carbon dioxide passes from the blood vessels into the air sacs
