FOOD WEIGHT AND MEASUREMENTS

FOOD – IS ANY SUBSTANCE CONSUMED TO PROVIDE NUTRITIONAL SUPPORT FOR AN ORGANISM.

WEIGHT – IS THE AMOUNT OF MASS OR WEIGHT REFERS TO THE UNIT OF A MATERIAL. THE SYMBOL
OF SPECIFIC WEIGHT IS LOOKS LIKE “Y”.

FOOD WEIGHT – THE MASS OR WEIGHT OF A FOOD e.g. (1kg of rice, 2l of oil, and 4 c of rice.)

• Temperature

 To convert Fahrenheit to Celcuis:

Subtract 32. Then multiply by 5/9

Example:

Convert 140° F to Celcuis

140 – 32 = 108

108 x 5/9 = 60° C

 To convert Celcuis to Fahrenheit:

Multiply by 9/5. Then add 32.

Example:

Convert 150° C to Fahrenheit

150 x 9/5 = 270

270 + 32 = 302° F
