CHAPTER 1
PRELIMINARY
A.BACKGROUND
tooth extraction pliers, the most widely used instrument in extracting teeth is forceps. the use of this
instrument allows the operator to grasp the root part of a tooth and remove a tooth from its socket.
the simplest & most efficient pliers pattern is straight pliers for upper teeth, and like all pliers, it has
a blade and handles that are joined by a hinge joint. the greater the ratio between the length of the
handle and the length of the blade, the greater the leverage that can be given to the root. The length
of the root must be such that the tang fits the operator's hand, because the greater the distance
between the joints of the hinge and the operator's hand. the movement of the pliers is in the hand

CHAPTER II
DISCUSSION
A.UNDERSTANDING OF FORCEPS
Pliers are tools commonly used in extracting both primary teeth and permanent teeth. the choice of
pliers also depends on the shape of the anatomy of the tooth, and the location in the mouth.
pliers that are used for permanent teeth and primary teeth are generally almost the same, but the
difference is the size because the primary teeth are smaller than permanent teeth. other than that
the deciduous teeth have springs on the handle.

CHAPTER III
CLOSSING
A.conclusion
Pliers are tools used in extracting both primary teeth and permanent teeth. the selection of pliers
also depends on the shape of the anatomy of the tooth and its location in the mouth. extraction
pliers have different characteristics, between pliers for the maxilla & lower jaw, forceps for anterior
& posterior teeth, pliers for crowns & roots.
