“Ugh, ang init!”, “Why does this need to be so tight?!” , “Ang hirap gumalaw”
What do you think these students are complaining about? Hmm… yes,
your guess is right. They are complaining about their school uniforms. Are you
one of those who does not like the idea of wearing school uniforms? Do you think
school uniforms should be required or not?
This topic has always been subject of debates. Many students don’t like
wearing school uniform because it makes them uncomfortable and they can’t
express themselves through fashion. But the truth is wearing school uniform is
better than wearing mandatory clothes. I will give you five reasons why.
First, school uniform reduce the barriers that exist between students
in the classroom. We are in a public school. We all know that there are some
classmates of us who are well off or let’s say “rich kid” who can afford things not
all of students can afford. So, if we wear uniform, the line between the rich and
poor will be blurred and the distinction is not as obvious as when students are
free to decide on their own outfits.
Fifth, because of school uniform, students are more secured and can
be easily identified. There’s nothing more important than being secured. If we
wear school uniform, we can be easily identified that we are from this certain
school. There are some instances that students get into an accident, and if he or
she wears his id and school uniform she can be easily identified. Same goes with
students who cut classes, if he or she was caught and is wearing school uniform,
the school can now do the action towards the students. Plus if we wear uniform,
we can get discount from public transportations.
Now do you agree that wearing school uniform should be required in the
school?
