Water Level Indicator Device

Introduction

Natural calamities such as floods are not controlled by human, but with nature itself. The sudden climate
change became the main problem of our society today. We cannot predict what will happen next rainy
season. So we proposed the device that will help for the awareness of everyone during floods. This water
level indicator has the system that will track how dangerous the water level would be. This device must be
put under of the bridge, dams, and other catch basin areas. And also it can be used in indoor tanks, and the
likes that needed the water level to be monitored.

It has an alarm which will sound and alert those who will hear it if the water level reach its peak level.
The development of this device will save many lives if they will stick to the warning. The awareness of
every individual about the risk of unpredicted flashfloods during heavy rainfall will be instilled into their
minds.

Water level indicator is really needed in order for everyone to become observant during calamities,
mostly during wet season. It has light indicators that will give them idea about the water level, the red
LED will light the alarm will sound if it reach to its highest level so that the people can evacuate and save
their precious lives, and to prevent casualties.

Objectives

· To generate sound with the help of alarm

· To monitor the water level
· To prevent wastage of water

· For attention and observation

Scope and limitations

This study will focus on creating water level indicator. It only aims to create a device that successfully
works to present the function of wires and battery and other materials in a circuit. The materials will only
be resistor, transistor, battery and leds. This battery uses a 9V battery. The proposal will manage to show
product procedures, materials used, and electronic descriptions to thoroughly explain various electrical
engineering complexes towards an understandable project.
Materials

The proposal used the following materials for the said project:

• 6 × 220 ohm resistor

• 4 × BC547 transistor

• 9V battery

• 4 × Led

• Buzzer

Description/Specification of electronic components

Electronic components Description/Specification

Resistor/s A resistor is an electrical component that limits or
regulates the flow of electrical current in an
electronic circuit. Resistors can also be used to
provide a specific voltage for an active device
such as a transistor.
Transistor/s The BC547 is a NPN transistor meaning when
power is applied to the base (control pin) it will
flow from the collector to the emitter. Typically
NPN transistors are used to “switch ground” on a
device, meaning, they are placed after the load in
a circuit.
battery Batteries are a collection of one or more cells
whose chemical reactions create a flow of
electrons in a circuit. All batteries are made up of
three basic components: an anode (the '-' side), a
cathode (the '+' side), and some kind of electrolyte
Led/s LED is a technology that refers to small diodes
that convert electricity to light (LED stands for
"light emitting diode").
Buzzer A buzzer or beeper is an audio signalling device,
which may be mechanical, electromechanical, or
piezoelectric. It is a small yet efficient component
to add sound features to our project/system.
