CATEGORIES

Senior Category:
- No age limit
- Elimination round 3 August 2017, solo playing time allowed 10 minutes minutes (can be more
than 1 pieces).
- 15 semifinalist will perform in Semifinal round 5 August 2016, solo playing time allowed 14
minutes minutes (can be more than 1 pieces).
- 7 finalist (could be more than 7 finalists depends on jury decision) will perform in Final round 6
August 2017, solo playing time allowed 17 minutes (can be more than 1 pieces).
- All pieces should be different in each round.
- Exceeding the time limits will lead to disqualification.

Junior A Category:
- Age not over 13 years old on 1 August 2017.
- 1st prize winner of Junior Category of Valerio Guitar Competition I, II, III & IV can not join in
Junior Category, you should apply in Senior Category.
- Only one round (final round) on 5 August 2017, solo playing time allowed 8 minutes minutes
(can be more than 1 pieces).
- Exceeding the time limits will lead to disqualification.

Junior B Category:
- Age not over 16 years old on 1 August 2017.
- 1st prize winner of Junior Category of Valerio Guitar Competition I, II, III & IV can not join in
Junior Category, you should apply in Senior Category.
- Only one round (final round) on 5 August 2017, solo playing time allowed 10 minutes minutes
(can be more than 1 pieces).
- Exceeding the time limits will lead to disqualification.

Ensamble Category:
- No age limit
- Only guitar instrument in a group.
- A group is duo, trio or quartet.
- One player allowed to play more than one performance with other groups.
- Only one round (final round) on 4 August 2017, playing time allowed 15 minutes minutes (can
be more than 1 pieces).
- Exceeding the time limits will lead to disqualification.
REGISTRATION FEES & DATES

International Contestant:
Festival Package (not include Competition Fee) is
compulsory for international contestant include:
- one tickets all concerts,
- one masterclass
- observer for all masterclasses: USD110

Competition Fee:
Senior & Junior Category:
- Registration on March 2017 – 30 April 2017: USD35
- Registration on May 2017 – 15 July 2017: USD45

Ensamble Category:
- Registration on March 2016 – 30 April 2017: USD25 (per person)
- Registration on May 2016 – 15 July 2017: USD30 (per person)

Extra Masterclass for contestant (30 minutes): USD40 (per class)

Extra Concert ticket: USD5 (one concert, one person)

Example:
John wants to join competition on Senior category, he has to pay fees;
- Festival Package USD110 and
- Competition fee USD45 (if he registered after 30 April 2017).
- Totally would be USD155.
If he wants to join one more Masterclass, he has to pay extra fee USD40.
If he wants to buy concert tickets for his friends/family, he has to pay USD5 for one person, one concert.

All fees excluding bank charges. Applicant is responsible for any bank charges.
If participant cancels participation, registration fee will not be refunded.

Valerio Guitar Artist series, Valerio Guitar Concert series, trophy and certificate.

RULES

1. Applicant should mention all the pieces for each round in Application Form. The pieces can be
changed before registration closing on 15 July 2017. Any changes after closing date are not
acceptable.
2. The programme of the solo competition performance must be memorised.
3. The organizer will prepare 1 chair and 1 footstool for solo performance and 4 chair for ensamble.
4. Ensamble contestants have to prepare footstool and music stand by theirself.
5. Only classical guitar with nylon strings are allowed for all categories.
6. The organizer will determined the performance order by random drawing.
7. The International Jury come from various countries with established reputation in music.
8. The Organizers may at any time call for new jury members to take part in the Jury or subtitute the
existng members.
9. All competitiors must accept the decisions of the Jury, regarding the awarding of prizes.
10. All stages of the competition will be recorded. Participants agree to waive any recording and/or
photos rights in or any media, during any aspect of the competition and consent to the unlimited
and unrestricted use of theeir name and image in any format or media for use by the festival
committee.
