Dear Cultrarians,

Welcome to the page of Cameron Ultra-Trail®, CULTRA.

CULTRA 2016 was held two years ago for the very first time, received overwhelming response from participants and supporters throughout
Malaysia and abroad.
For CULTRA 2018, it will remain tough and challenging to participants and to us as well, the organizing committee. The motto for CULTRA
which is “Be Prepared. Be Very Prepared” is not just a phrase, it is something that represents the commitment of each individuals involve
in CULTRA either as participants, crews, volunteers or the organizing committee.

CULTRA 2017 was a success to us and everyone that involved. We are determined not only to continue the success for CULTRA 2018 but to
improve the deliverables in order to bring CULTRA to the next level.
On behalf of the organizing committee, we would like to express our sincerest gratitude and appreciation to the runners, sponsors, part-
ners and authorities for making CULTRA a reality. We hope that the CULTRA 2018 will be a success and will continue to grow in the years

Winners Verification

All potential winners are required to report to the secretariat

counter no later than one (1) hour after crossing the finishing line.
Potential winners will be verified by the officials and the following
documents are required:

• Original NRIC or passport

• Original Bib number
• Winners tag
The officials have right to disqualify the potential runners that fail
the verification process. Only the actual winner or the appointed
representative can collect the award during the prize giving cer-
emony. Prizes will be forfeited if the winner unable to attend the
ceremony unless for medical reason.
checkpoints (cp)
All runners are required to run the official route and report to each
checkpoint according to the distance. The drink, food supply and
other CP facilities may differ depends on your category. Refer to
CP section for more details.
distance & directional markers
The marker will be placed at the critical junction and location
only. We are expecting all runners to make use of the GPX files
that we provided or print the map for navigation during the race.
Route marshal will be deployed at random location along the
courses.
timing

All participants will be timed using Runners Unite timing system.

drop bag service
All participant may utilise the service provided at the starting line
to drop off any bags that you will require post-race in advance.
Please do not place any valuable item such as wallet, key or
phone. All belonging must be collected before 11.00am on Sunday.
The organiser takes no responsibility for the contents of the bag,
theft or loss of item.
medical assistance
Medical assistance is available at the starting line and also at
all checkpoints. The medical officials have right to stop the run-
ner and remove the bib number as they see fit to ensure runners
safety. Should a runner be transported to the hospital for medical
treatment, transportation back to the starting line is individual’s
responsibility. Medical expenses to be borne by the participants.
toilets
Toilets are available at the pavilions near the starting line, public
toilets also available at the playground area about 100m from the
starting line. Refer race site layout for details.

special needs bag
• This applies to only 55km and 100km participants
• The special needs bag must be deposited at the designated
tent located at Century Pines Hotel parking lot between 10am
to 6pm, 27 July
• Request to deposit the special needs bags after 6:00pm, 27
July will not be entertained
• Special needs bag service is only available at CP4
• Recollection of the bags will be at the finishing line 2 hours
after the respective categories cut-off time.
• Participant who wants to deposit their special needs bag,
MUST pack their items in the bag given by the organizer during
the race pack collection. Bag must be packed and tied firmly
and marked properly.
• Please write down the participants name and bib number to
the bag tag given by organizer during race pack collection and
tie it to the bag.
• Please do not keep any valuable items in the special needs
bag as the organizer will not be held responsible for any loss or
damage to the items
• The organiser take no responsibility for the contents of the bag,
for theft or loss of item. All belonging must be collected before
1:00 pm on Sunday. Any remaining items will be considered for-
feited property.

surau
Mosque is located at about 200m from the starting line.
Surau facilities are also available at CP2 (Sg Pauh), approximately
11km from starting line to perform Subuh prayer.
personal support crew
Support crew are allowed within 50m of CP1, CP2, CP3 and CP4.
parking
Parking is very limited. All participants and supporters who stay
within the 1km radius from the starting line are encourage to walk
from their hotel.
overseas runners
Over 480 overseas runners and supporters from 26 countries will
participate in this event. Welcome to Malaysia
and Cameron Highlands.
littering
Do not throw rubbish at the trails. Rubbish bins are provided at all
checkpoints. Anyone caught deliberately littering may be disquali-
fied from the race and future events.

weather info
The weather is expected to be partly sunny with a chance of thun-
derstorm with highs of 22 degrees Celsius and lows of 14 degrees
Celsius. However, at higher altitude points such as Mount Berem-
bun, the temperature may drop to as low as 9 degrees Celsius
during nighume. Runners are at risk of hypothermia if exposed to
rain and wind elements for long periods of time. 55km and 100km
runners are required to carry 2 pieces of Emergency Blanket and
windbreaker or waterproof jacket with hood. While not a require-
ment for the other categories, we highly recommend carrying at
least a jacket during the race. During daytime, while temperature
averages at the mid 20s, the sun rays at Tanah Rata, Cameron
Highlands, is at 1,400 meter above sea level is higher than that of
at lower altitude locations such as Kuala Lumpur. To prevent heat-
stroke, we recommend sunblock or sunscreen with SPF 50 and
visors for all runners.
withrdawing
Any runner who is unable to finish must personally inform the near-
est CP or crew of their decision to withdraw. Athletes who leave
the race without officially withdrawing will trigger an immediate
Search and Rescue response. The race director reserves the right
to pass on any costs associated with an unnecessary search ef-
fort if a runner has not bothered to notify event staff of their with-
drawal.
