INTRODUCTION
Target Audience. The target audience of the video are the Filipino Foreign Students
who want to study abroad especially somewhere in European region specifically in Netherlands
and wants to elevate global and cultural awareness, encourage independent study interests,
improve foreign language skills and enhance inter-cultural communication competencies.
Foreign Students required to get Schengen Visa to enables to enter, freely travel within and
leave the Schengen zone from any of the Schengen member. However, if the stay exceeding
three months, Foreign Student need a provisional residence permit which must apply sooner
after arrival. (“SchengenVisaInfo,” n.d.)
Foreign students are required to meet the admission requirements which sets by the
institution and may vary by different programme. The education institution sets a minimum
qualification requirement to the programme. It is essential that the foreign student speak, read
and write English well, they must have passed and English language test. International English
Language Testing System (IELTS) and Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) are
commonly accepted, but institutions may accept other tests as well, like Cambridge English.
Some universities do have some on-campus housing. Make sure to check the university
whether they can arrange a room. If the foreign students are in an exchange programme or on
an international course, a room may be arranged for them. In Holland, students usually don’t
live on campus but live in student houses across the city, finding a good, affordable room can be
a challenge, so make sure to start looking as soon as possible (“StudyinHoland,” 2019).
Therefore, there is no age requirements as long as the foreign students have secondary
school and higher education diploma or an equivalent, pass the IELTS or TOEFL test with
appropriate results and have the finances required to study including tuition and housing fees.
According to “European Commission,” n.d., Foreign Students have the same right to
work while studying as either international students and nationals of country. They are not
required to have work permit, even to work full-time as long as the foreign student have valid
residence permit. Moreover, International Students can engage in some form of student activity
to enable to view Dutch culture, society and language in a whole new way and possibly open
doors for future working life for that who wishes to live and work in the Netherlands and
obviously help finding local friends. The content of the video will be limited to information that
will help Filipino foreign students while having their study during their stay in Netherlands
