Our Mission: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that

build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.

Lori Smith found herself in a familiar

state. When she was younger she was
physically active, but after having three
kids, she found herself out of time and
full of excuses. She fell victim to the
"funk," better known as the lack of
motivation and energy to do anything.
She says,

"More and more I found excuses not to

go, and they weren't good excuses,
but they were excuses, and after a
while I just kind of got into a funk. So
anyway, I needed a change and I
decided to buckle down and do it."

YMCA OF WESTERN STARK COUNTY
ANNUAL CAMPAIGN
We are looking to raise $20,000 this
year in our Annual Campaign to put
towards families who feel they cannot
afford the YMCA. Every dollar raised in
our campaign is put towards our
community members in need. Our
cause is to strengthen the community
through programs that focus on
healthy living, youth development, and
social responsibility. We educate,
inspire, and care for people off all ages,
race, and background.

Everyone is welcome at the Y! The dollars raised in our Annual Campaign ensure
that no one is ever turned away due to inability to pay. Any size gift or donation
is both needed and greatly appreciated. It will impact all families who receive Y
programs or services.

How does the Y help our community?

Each year w e provide quality child care and education for over 200 w orking families in
our community. Some families fall betw een the cracks of state subsidized assistance.
The Y helps by providing financial assistance to those families.

In our community, w e teach over 800 children to sw im each year. Any child w ho can'
afford to have lessons is offered a scholarship for financial assistance. Our skilled
aquatic staff also takes our YMCA Safety Around W ater program into the schools to
educate children and prevent drow ning.

W e bring community together through our Charity Fun Run events that help families
w ho are struggling w ith devastating illness or disaster.

YMCA Active Aging programs engage our older adults in educational, social, and
healthy exercise programs. Our senior citizens have an increased quality of life by
participating in our Y.

The YMCA is a place to belong, volunteer, nurture friendships, learn, play, and
improve the health of those w ho live and w ork in our community,

Donat e Now
Strengthening community is our cause.
The YMCA is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization of people

We make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income

thrive through YMCA programs. Your gift will make a
difference to sustain this organization for future
generations.
