In line with the celebration of Escoda Memorial Ceremony, every September 20 of every year was declared
as Escoda Day throughout the country. We pay homage and tribute to Josefa Llanes Escoda for her sacrifices
and exemplariness. Investiture Ceremony for the Girls Scout of the Philippines and Star Scouts will be held
also on the same.

In connection with this, may I have the honor to request from your good office to allow us to conduct our
JOINT BSP/GSP INVESTITURE CEREMONY and ESCODA DAY CELEBRATION on September
27, 2019

I. CONTEXT

Title : JOINT BSP/GSP INVESTITURE AND ESCODA DAY

II. RATIONALE

Investiture Ceremony is held to welcome the newly registered youths to brotherhood and
sisterhood in our country to continue the path of great service and wondrous works to set an inspiration
to everyone.

Every year, we celebrate the Escoda Day to give tribute to Josefa Llanes Escoda for her heroism
most especially for founding the Girl Scouts of the Philippines and also as a woman of courage,
compassion in and dedication to service, who even at the threshold of death.

III. OBJECTIVES
These celebrations shall be able to:
1. Inculcate in the minds of pupils the greatness of Josefa Llanes Escoda
2. Showcase the talents of scouters in presenting their yell and song.
3. Develop self-confidence, camaraderie and sportsmanship of the pupils;
4. Enhance leadership training and working with others.
