Lesson Plan in Mathematics 10

September 11, 2017

I. Objectives: The learner is able to determine the behavior of graph relative to x-axis at the root.
II. Subject Matter:
A. Topic: Polynomial Functions
B. Subtopic: Multiplicity of a zero of a polynomial function
C. References: K to 12 Curriculum Gide for Mathematics 10, Learner’s Material for Math
10, Teacher’s Guide for Math 10
D. Materials: Learner’s Material, worksheet, charts
III. Procedure:
Review: What is the Leading Coefficient Test?

Motivation: The teacher will present figure on Activity 10. How should I pass through and let some
students describe its graph?

A. Activity:
The groups of students will be given the following tasks:
1. Count Me In (LMp.119)
2. Discussion of Groups
B. Analysis:
The students will answer the following guide questions as they analyze the activities
they did:
a. What do you notice about the graph when it passes through a root of even
multiplicity? Odd multiplicity?
C. Abstraction:
a. Our lesson is on the behavior of graph relative to x-axis at the root. The behavior of
the ends of the graph of the polynomial functions can be determined through this
test.
b. The teacher will add up to the discussion of the students and present more
examples.
D. Application:
Answer Act. 12 #1 p.121
IV. Evaluation:
Please refer to the activity on page 121 Activity 12 #s 1 and 2.
V. Assignment:
What are the connections of graphing polynomial functions to real life?
Study p. 122-123 of LM Mathematics
