1. Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for Selection of (91) vacancies of
Home Guards (B- Category) (MALE) only i.e., (73) - Home Guard (Fireman), (18) - Home
Guard (Driver Operator) in Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response & Fire Services
Department. The number of vacancies indicated as below.

2. This selection to the above Home Guard posts mentioned above is being made as per
the provisions of Rules issued vide Cir. Memo. Rc.No.167/HGs/Estt.1/2012, Dated.15-02-
2012 of the Director General of Police, A.P., Hyderabad as per the permission accorded by
the Government vide Govt.Memo.No.25023/16/2018-P&F Home (Prison & Fire) Department.
Dated: 14-12-2018.

3. The Requisite Educational Qualification, Age, Physical standards, procedure to be

followed for selection, etc., are given below.

A. ELIGIBILITY FOR SELECTION AS HOME GUARDS (FIREMAN/ DRIVER

OPERATOR) SHALL BE AS BELOW :-

i. The candidate should be a Citizen of India.

ii. AGE LIMIT:

The candidate must have completed the age of 18 years and must not
have completed the age of 50 years as on 1st January 2019 i.e., must have
born not earlier than 1st January, 1969 and not later than 1st January, 2001.

iii. MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION :

The candidate must have passed (7th) or equivalent examination
recognized by the State Government on the date of Notification.

iv. PHYSICAL STANDARDS: The candidates should meet the following

requirements :

(a) Height : Must not be less than 160 Cms. (Category-B).

v. Should have Satisfactory Character and Antecedents.

vi. Should be Physically and Medically fit person.
vii. Must be Local Candidates of the Unit Area/ Neighbor Area.
viii. Must be (05) years work experience in Fire Fighting and Rescue Operations.
ix. Must possess current and clean Heavy Motor Vehicle License and must
have been valid for a minimum period of (2) Years as on date of
notification. (WHO APPLIED FOR HOME GUARD DRIVER ONLY).

4. APPLICATION FORMS:

(a) Candidates must apply in the Application Form devised by the A.P. State Disaster
Response & Fire Services Department in the website :
https://202.83.28.165/recruit which can be downloaded from the above portal.
The payment of Rs.25/- in favour of Administrative Officer, drawn on Vijayawada,
Office of the Director General State Disaster Response & Fire Services, A.P.,
Vijayawada from 28-01-2019 @ 10.30 A.M. to 18-02-2019 @ 5.00 P.M. and up
load the Copy of the D.D. along with requisite Certificates etc in the online portal
itself between the above dates Without fail. And submit the original D.D. at the

Note : Incomplete applications or applications without prescribed enclosures

will not be entertained (or) Not taken for consideration of Selection process.

(b). The candidates must up load the copies of : 1) Educational

Qualifications Certificates, 2). Date of Birth Certificate, 3). Nativity Certificate,
4). Caste Certificate, 5). H.M.V. Driver License (Minimum 2 years experience)
6). Aadhar Card, 7). Experience Certificate in Fire Fighting and Rescue Operations. 8)
Passport size photo.

5. SELECTION PROCEDURE : The selection procedure is as follows :

a). The following Basic Skill Test on Fire Fighting and Rescue Operations for Home
Guard (Fireman) for (50) marks will be conducted on 01-03-2019 from 09.00 AM.
The candidate should qualify in minimum (03) tests with (15) qualifying marks.

i). Water Tender Drill - (10) – Marks.

ii). Fire Extinguishers Operations - (10) – Marks.
iii). Knots & Lines - (10) – Marks.
iv). Rescue with One (or) Two personnel – (10) – Marks.
v). Identification of Fire Fighting Equipment & their Use - (10) – marks.

b). Driving Test will be conducted to those who applied for Home Guard (Driver
Operator) on 06-03-2019 from 09.00 AM by the Selection Committee.

c). The Chairman of the Selection Committee will scrutinize the applications received
and will conduct the Basic Skill Test in Fire Fighting operations for Fireman and
Driver Test to the eligible candidates at the following venues on the dates noted
against each District along with Committee Members as constituted by the Director
General of Police, A.P., Mangalagiri, Guntur District.

Note (1) : Candidates have to make their own arrangements with regard to their
transportation, boarding, stay, etc., for attending the Selection process. Selection
Committee will not entertain any representation of the candidate who fails to attend
the Selection Process. The place of Venue and Time Schedule to be strictly followed.

(7). Remuneration i.e. Duty allowances to Home Guards as per G.O.Ms.No.77, Home
(Budget) Department, dated.18-06-2018 is Rs.600/- w.e.f.18-06-2018.

The Department will not entertain any correspondence from any candidate in
Off-line.
