Resume ranking protocol

The goal of building such a system is to get a score that can be normalised. It can then be used to compare resumes
effectively

Important parts/data of resumes are


1) CGPI
2) College
3) Branch
4) Professional experience: Internship (< 6 months) & work experience(> 6 months)
5) Qualification
6) Projects
7) Patent
8) Publication
9) Certifications
10) Extracurricular: Managerial roles, competitions, social work...
11) Programming
12) Knowledge of tool
13) Language known (Applicable if a company is not from native country)

1) CPI:
Type: Numeric
Total score: 10
Score: CPI/10 or percentage converted to CPI.
2) College
Score = (101 – Rank)/100
3) Branch:
Type: nominal (subjective. Semantic)
If the branch is relevant to the job profile, then higher point comparatively.
4) Professional experience:
Type: Subjective (nominal), Numeric
Points: No. of internship*0.5 + No. of experience*1 + Keyword x 0.1 (Max score = 0.3/ keyword)
If the employer is a company from top 500 in India (eg: Tata, Birla, Reliance, etc), extra points to be
allocated (could be 2).
5) Qualification
Type: Subjective (ordinal & nominal) = 1 or 2
If the company needs only Btech, point for Btech is higher than Mtech.
If the company is open to Btech & Mtech, Points for MTech is higher than BTech.
6) Projects
Type: Subjective (nominal), Numeric
Points: No. of projects*0.5 + Keyword x 0.1 (Max score = 0.2/ keyword)
If the project is related to profile, no. of unique words which is listed in the bucket of requirement
=score. For that buckets have to be built, eg: ML bucket (Data science, logistic regression, predictive
modeling ). If the resume has logistic regression and data science, score = 2.
If the project is with a company from top 500 in India (eg: Tata, Birla, Reliance, etc), extra points to be
allocated (could be 2).
7) Patent, Score = No. of patents*4
8) Publication = No. of publication*2
