after singing the sections together, I 
tell them I want to do it again but ask them what they 
thought and learned about learning on a section by rote and 
one by sight-reading? I want to do this so I will get feedback 
from the choir on what they liked and what they did not like.

After we sing the B section, we will see 
both the A and B sections through.

once we have looped the B section we will 
run it with everyone on their own part.

after we run the “A” material again, I will 
then ask them to sight read the B section by looping and 
having every part sing each one till we get to the sopranos.

Then do a mild mapping of the piece so 
that they know what material is the same and what isn’t. 
they part that they learned is A material. after mapping we 

will do the A material.

the page where I just taught them. ask them if the material 
looked familiar and then sing it once more on text

support I want you all to follow along with me. I will sing a 
phrase from a piece. and then you are going to sing the 
phrase back to me, then I will whisper the phrase and you will 
whisper it back to me. then we will tap the rhythm while I sing 
it then we will sing together while tapping the rhythm. 

__Med__ _ 2​ Learn that singing is a process in which we 


need to focus on breathing and tonality in that order so let's 
take a second to focus on breath first.
