I believed that Bernal wanted the audience to feel the mood of the
scene. It explains that Lapu-Lapu was a colonizer, who traveled to our land
by means of ships. Therefore, the whole stage was transformed into wooden
slats shaped into waves. The wooden slats formed the platform for the
actors. Bernal evoked these bodies of water using three huge waves
undulating across the stage.
In the final analysis, the whole stage worked so good, cohesive and
arresting. This is due to the captivating color that Bernal used and the
shapes of object in the stage. The stage relates the scene of Lapu-Lapu and
so far everything was good and amazing.
