1. WHAT DO YOU THINK IS DEONTOLOGY?

Deontology is the normative ethical theory that the morality of an action should be
based on whether that action itself is right or wrong under a series of rules, rather
than based on the consequences of the action.

It is sometimes described as duty or obligation or rule based ethics, because rules

bind one to one's duty.

2. CAN YOU APPLY IT TO YOUR PROFESSION? IN WHICH WAY?

Yes, deontology is very applicable in our professional life because it helps us to

improve our dignity and also allows us to learn to make better decisions and be
able to orient ourselves in life besides being able to develop a technical skill that
allows us to perform tasks with an important level of competence and quality.

3. WHO IS KANT? WHAT KIND OF THOUGHT DOES HE PRESENTS? WHAT IS

IT ABOUT?

Kant is one of the most influential thinkers in Europe and universal philosophy.

Kant, in defining deontology refers to duty and obligations, does not speak of an
ethics related to the future of man, his goals or aspirations in life, rather focuses
ethics on an ethic of duty, the which establishes patterns of behavior that must be
followed or laws that regulate citizens.

It could be considered as an independent and formal ethics if we take into

account that it does not offer contents, it does not establish guidelines to lead a
life that can be considered good or bad.

Mention finally, its involvement with the criterion of universalization capacity,

which makes it possible to differentiate between moral maxims and those that are
not.

4. WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF DEONTOLOGY THAT YOU CAN REMEMBER?

The differents types of deontology is:

1. Divine Command Theory

2. Natural Rights Theory
3. Contractarian Ethics
4. Pluralistic Deontology

These theories are established with the objective of improving the morals of
people, and the moral obligations that human begins must exercise.
