Yu Message Youth Entrepreneurship Program

Let me express my warmest greetings to everyone especially to the organizers of

this event, the Department of Trade and Industry, spearheaded by Director Sitti
Amina Jain of DTI-IX.

My felicitation also to our notable guests for this day from the government and
private sectors and of course, the stars of the show for today, our Young
Entrepreneurs who really made time to attend this important function.

In the 21st century where competition in the professional world is so tight and
opportunities are coveted by everyone in the labor force, the value of
entrepreneurial skill is very much visualized. Entrepreneurial skill is not just a
skill comparable to reading and writing. It pertains to an expertise to create an
opportunity. Considering its utmost importance, it is highly valuable to educate
the youth of this concept. We need to erase the mentality “basta negosyante
alkanse or way ginansya pero ginansi”. In fact, we need to encourage our youth
to become entrepreneurs equipped with all the necessary skills.

Youth Entrepreneurship Program’s official tagline Harnessing Our Own

Resources for the Advancement of the Youth! (HOORAY!) is in keeping with our
government’s growth agenda which may be achieved by encouraging more
Filipino Entrepreneurs. This will result to a broaden gains of economic
development, address inequality or class gap and improve the quality of life of
Filipinos.

As a final message, I want to repeat the vision of our National Hero, “The youth
is the hope of our motherland”.

Atoang kab-uton atoang malambuong kaugmaon pinaagi sa pagnegosyo.

Daghang Salamat ug Maayong Buntag.
Gov. Yu Message Youth Entrepreneurship Program

My warmest greetings to everyone!

My felicitation to all the personnel of Department of Trade and Industry through

the initiative of our Regional Director, Sittti Amina M. Jain. My highest regards
also to all the stakeholders from the government and private sectors for gracing
today’s function and of course, our celebrated guests for this day’s affair, our
Young Entrepreneurs from all over the province of Zamboanga del Sur.

For us to grasp the importance of Entrepreneurship, let us use our imaginations

and portray what would it be like without any entrepreneurs or businessman.
No entrepreneur means lesser jobs, more expensive products and lesser income
to Filipinos. Thus, it is vital to educate the youth regarding entrepreneurial skills
to create more opportunities and facilitate free-business climate within our
region which will contribute to the overall economic development in the
Philippines.

This year’s Youth Entrepreneurship Program tagline HOORAY! Which means

“Harnessing Our Own Resources for the Advancement of the Youth” is in
keeping with the economic agenda of our government in strengthening economic
independence among individuals and communities especially of the youth. I hope
all the participants of this undertaking will learn the basic skills of
entrepreneurship and capitalize in its application in the years to come.

Finally, I want to challenge the youth, the cornerstone of our nation’s future, to
participate, engage and manifest the Entrepreneurial Spirit for the prosperity of
the Philippines and for a better future.
Kudos kabatan-onang ZamboSurians! Daghang Salamat ug Maayong Buntag sa
maka-usa pa!
