Maths Investigation – Location and Transformation

Learning Intention: To create a scale map of our classroom and provide directions.
Success Criteria:
I have done this when I have included all key features required on a map.
I will create a series of directions that can be used to lead from my ‘desk’ to the
outside of the classroom.
I will create a map that will be visually interesting and easy to read.
I will use correct spelling and punctuation.

The Task:
You are to create a detailed map of our classroom.
Map Features
Your map must include the following
- A title of our classroom
- A compass point showing north
- The use of co-ordinate points
- The use of a 1cm = 1m scale
- The classroom drawn to scale size
- A legend showing the different ‘landmarks’ within the classroom.
