FABRICATION OF AUTOMATIC RAIN WIPER MECHANISM

INTRODUCTION:

A windscreen wiper or windshield wiper is a device used to remove rain

and debris from a windscreen or windshield. Almost all motor vehicles, including
trains, aircraft and watercraft, are equipped with such wipers, which are usually a
legal requirement.

A wiper generally consists of an arm, pivoting at one end and with a long
rubber blade attached to the other. The blade is swung back and forth over the
glass, pushing water from its surface. The speed is normally adjustable, with
several continuous speeds and often one or more "intermittent" settings. Most
automobiles use two synchronized radial type arms, while many commercial
vehicles use one or more pantograph arms.

ABSTRACT

The main aim to select this project is to gain knowledge in the field of
automation using Micro Controller.

In this project “ AUTOMATIC RAIN WIPER MECHANISM” the

wiper in the car front window works automatically. When the rainwater falls on the
glass screen. The automatic operation is controlled with the micro controller which
receives the signal from humidity sensor which is placed at the bottom of the
window screen, when the rain water falls on it, sensor sends the signal to the micro
controller which in turn switch on the supply to the motor and hence the wiper
clean the surface on the front glass screen.

` This wiper mechanism in to mode (Manual mode and auto mode). In

manual mode a separate switch is used to ON/OFF this wiper.

 This system can be used in both light moving vehicles such as three
wheelers as well as in heavy moving vehicles such as buses and trucks
etc.
 This system can be implemented in institutional vehicles, taxis, driving
school vehicles, etc.
