PLANNING TECHNICAL ACTIVITIES

GROUP 1: ALIMEN, JOHN HENRY, ALVAREZ, ALJO, ARROZA, DIVINE JEZEBEL

SUMMARY:

Planning is one of the most important activity in a specific task in order to manage the
entire project with directions and processes. It includes strategies, tactics to achieve
organizational goal and desired result. Planning is divided into 3 different levels which includes
Top Management Level or Strategic Planning , Middle Management Level or Intermediate
Planning and Lower Management Level or Operational Planning.
Planning also consists of various steps like setting organizational, divisional, or unit
goals, developing strategies, determining resources and setting standards. Types of Plans also
includes Functional Area Plan which consists of marketing plan, production plan, financial plan
and human resource management plan; Plans with Time Horizon which consists of short range
plans and long range plans; and Plans According to Frequency of Use which consists of standing
plans and single used plans. Having strategic plan should contain company or corporate mission,
objectives or goals and strategies.
OBSERVATION:
The report is well organized and the reporters are well prepared. They elaborate and
explain well the important topics with additional information. They also delivered the topic
effectively with some sort of examples. They provide some infrastructure that undertook
planning which is nice to present so that the audience will be able to understand the lesson. They
also provide a lot of information and well prepared visual aids to attract audience. The reporters
are also ready when it comes to interrogation with the students and the teacher.
RECOMMENDATION:
I would highly recommend to at least have a video that shows how planning work in a
company. Video that shows the steps of planning and how is it important to start with the
planning processes but overall the reporters done well.

SUMMARY:
Planning is the most important task in managing an organization. Managers who plan are
usually have the chance to analyze problem and become good in terms of decision-making.
There are various management level in planning; Top management level or the strategic
planning, Middle management level the intermediate planning and lastly the Lower management
level also known as operational planning.
The planning process also consists of various steps depending on the management level
that performs the planning task, some example are: setting organizational, divisional, or unit
goals, developing strategies or tactics to reach those goals, determining resources needed and
setting standards. According to Medina (1982) there are three types of plans; the Functional Area
Plan which consists of marketing plan, production plan, financial plan and human resource
management plan; Plans with Time Horizon which consists of short range plans and long range
plans; and Plans According to Frequency of Use which consists of standing plans and single used
plans. Having strategic plan should contain company or corporate mission, objectives or goals
and strategies.
OBSERVATION:
The reporters and the report itself is well made and planned carefully. They explained
very well the contents of their reports and from time to time they give examples that are
appropriate to the topic being discussed. Also the examples that they presented are realistic
which made it easier for the audience or the class to understand. When it comes to the class or
the professor inquiring things about their report they are quick to answer the given question, thus
making them more consistent in reporting since they know their report very well.
RECOMMENDATION:
I recommend the reporters to deliver or relay more examples of the different types of plan
so that the class can relate more to the topic, although they gave examples to it, it would be better
if they’ll give an in-depth explanation and examples like an actual written example of a
marketing plan or financial plan.

SUMMARY:

determining the best strategies and tactics to achieve organizational goal. Planning is an

OBSERVATION:
Overall the reporters delivered the reports precisely and concise, they provided real life
examples which enables the listeners to understand the topic well. The contents of their report is
arranged systematically and the reporter itself done a good job in relying the topic to the class
they mastered and memorized their report well. They also answered all the questions given to
them by the teacher and the class.
RECOMMENDATION:
I would recommend to the reporters that they example to some parts of their report since
there are some parts that I think is lacking in explanation or lacks in example. But all in all the
reporter did a great job in delivering the topic to the class.

SUMMARY:
Planning is the fundamental management function, which involves deciding beforehand,
what is to be done, when is it to be done, how it is to be done and who is going to do it. It is an
intellectual process which lays down an organization’s objectives and develops various courses
of action, by which the organization can achieve those objectives. It chalks out exactly, how to
attain a specific goal.
In planning there are people involved that will facilitate and make the planning possible.
There are 3 management levels, the top which is assigned to the strategic planning involves the
higher person in the company or organization, the middle management(managers) which will do
the intermediate planning and the lower management(supervisors and workers) which will
facilitate the operational planning.
Like decision making, planning has a process, first is setting organizational, divisional or
unit goals, next is developing strategies or tactics to reach those goals, then determining the
resources needed and lastly setting standards. Planning also involves various strategies and
tactics that would be helpful to attain success in the company.
OBSERVATION:
I observed that they study their topic well, they prepared well and they delivered well. As
a group they made it easy for us to understand the topic in the simplest way, but I also observed
that Aljo, mostly did the explaining part. All in all they did great, as they start and end their
report with a bang.
RECOMMENDATION:
I can only recommend that they should've put at least a video presentation of an example
of making a plan, though it is explained but maybe a short video would help to widen our
learnings to their lessons. Also the PPT presentation could've been lighter than the darker colors.
But as a whole they did well
