the ground beneath your feet.
It’s the hedge and the wall
enclosing it, the seasons pass-
ing over it, the dew sparkling
across it…
This is our history and the
stories we tell, the villages and
the hillsides under them. These
are the defining character traits
of a unique personality, crafted
by the hands of masters.
Richard and Stéphane Martin
have tilled the land according
to their belief in organic farm-
ing for years, and today are
proud to bear the Ecocert
certificate. This is a guarantee
of respectful environmental
practices and strong ethics, but
also a commitment to staying
true to the local and regional
identity.
By digging deeper, these wines
unveil the unique features of
their origins and offer up truly
authentic pleasures.
Here, the earth is a soil, a
slope, a plot of land and a
receiver of light.
In the end, the earth is what it
all comes down to.
The Greater Solutré
Pouilly Vergisson Site
The 25 hectares of the Domain
are tucked away in this historic
landscape which has borne wit-
ness to the history of geology
and humanity.
Pouilly-Fuissé
These heirloom vines on the
slopes of the Roche de Solutré
offer up some truly exceptional
wines.
Pomona, the Goddess
of Fruits and Gardens
In Burgundy, we have been
working the vines since Roman
times. Here, we worshipped
Pomona. Maybe the hamlet of
“En Pommards” is a souvenir of
our ancestors?
Care for the
environment
Here, we’ve replanted hedges
around our vines to encourage
biodiversity. A great example of
this is at La Grande Bruyère.
The old deanery
Around the year one thousand,
the monks of Cluny founded a
deanery at Chevignes to supply
wine and other produce to the
abbey, a few miles away.
Les Buis
The limestone in the soil brings
mineral notes to the wine, a
real portrait of its terroir.
This plot was the first to be
certified Organic.
La Croix Senaillet
Benoît Senaillet, a former mayor
of the village, planted this cross
in 1866. Standing amongst the
plots of land, it
is rumored to
protect those
who truly
believe.
The cellar
Built after the turn of the
millennium, this cellar takes
inspiration from typical Mâcon
buildings with a Mâconnais
gallery overlooking the cellar
entrance. Here, carved into the
stone, is where we age our wine.

The lime and clay geology of The history of this Domain
