• $2.4 million for sewer overflow pumping


• Unfunded mandate
• Additional phases will be required
Community Development Block Grants

• $500,000 federal grant


• Replaces sections of watermain and fire hydrants
• Grant targeted the Southern part of Monmouth

• The City will be applying for another grant this year


Love’s Travel Stop Development

• $9 Million dollar investment


• Currently in engineering stage for utility extensions
• A new business district was created to accommodate the investment
Road Improvement Programs

2019 will see the largest street improvement program in decades.


Approximately $800,000 will be invested.

Additional funding from the State’s motor fuel tax increase will allow greater investment
In the coming years.
Housing Study
Findings:
• Demand for single-family homes
• Demand for condominiums
• Demand for upscale rental units
• Monmouth can support 75 new homes

60% commute to work in Monmouth

Currently in discussion with a housing developer


• Professional consultants were retained to identify develop entrepreneurs
• Identify market needs and assist in building stronger relationships with the
business community and ethnic population
• Assist the City in developing a downtown revitalization plan
