PUBLIC RELATIONS ADVICE FOR ANTONIO BROWN

September 16, 2019 · by wuprssa · in Uncategorized. ·

Lately, every time I have gotten a notification from my ESPN app it has been about Antonio
Brown. He has been in the news for negative situations such as his short time on the
Oakland Raiders, which was a rollercoaster ride. His negative situations all started from
when he burnt the bottom of his feet, to his helmet situation, to when he almost fought the
general manager of the Oakland Raiders, Mike Mayock, to when he got traded and is now
playing for the New England Patriots.

Antonio Brown has been a public relations nightmare for his teams dating back to the
Pittsburgh Steelers incidents that got him traded in the first place. At this point, there are
only a few plans of attack his team could take to go about resolving his image in the media
and put him in a more positive light.

The first thing Antonio Brown should be suggested to do is make a statement of apology for
his actions. Brown can do himself a lot of favors by simply apologizing for his actions and
being a distraction to the different organizations he has been a part of.

Another way to change his negative image into a positive image is, for example, the helmet
situation. He wanted to wear the helmet he always had, but then he found out he could not
wear it due to the new NFL rules and regulations. He then was on the search for a new
helmet that fits the leagues regulations and ended up with a new helmet contract, which
allowed him to wear the certain type of helmet that fits him. When he received this offer, he
could have given back to the Oakland community by purchasing helmets for a local high
school. Social responsibility, such as giving back to the community, could always place your
brand in a positive light and drown out the negativity of your name in the media.
Brown is a very powerful figure in society being one of the most known NFL players. He is
watched over heavily and will be criticized for everything he does. He cannot do anything
without having a camera on him which sometimes is self-inflicted.

Brown is currently on a new team with a new number and a new look. I think this is the
start of his rebranding phase to show people that he is going to try to stay out of the media
and focus completely on football. This is a great opportunity for Antonio Brown to not focus
on the publicity surrounding him and turn his negative image into a positive image.
