the public transport system in the area where you live. Your report your report should
outline the public transport system available. It Should comment on its strengths and should
also make suggestions for improvements.

Public transport system in Ha Noi

Ha Noi it is a big city which has developed during the last 10 years very fast, exceeding
everyone´s expectations which had implications in the transport system.

We need to mention 3 main aspects regarding the transport system. First: city bus lines;
Second: the planning of the city itself; and Third: the incorporation of a new mean of
transport: “the Sky train”.

The bus lines are sufficient for the needs of the people. Some of them get up to 30 kilometers
out of the city which is very convenient for students and workers. All the buses are equipped
with air conditioning system, they all usually run on time. On the other hand, the fleet It's
getting older, the lack of maintenance is a big issue.

The roads system was designed many years ago as a small city, populated by bicycles and
motorbikes, it served the purpose then. Now the number of bigger vehicles has increased
exponencially making the coexistence among them a concern for the population.

And the third aspect is the”dreamt” sky train that was going to be running 2 year ago to ease
the imponent traffic congestion, but know the effect is being the opposite due to the
construction that implies closing roads among other inconveniences.

Recommendations

I would suggest improving the condition of the buses, to enlarge the fleet and to set up special
roads for them in the city center. Also I think the roads need to be taken care of and it may be
a solution to restrict the traffic for certain times.
