FLOSYS PUMPS pumpsets are results of inputs gained from over three decades of close
contact with the farming community. Our pumpsets are manufactured and supplied to suit the
specific application. With many designs the combination options allow the configuration of the
right pump for any application. Submersible pumpsets for depths upto 600 meter have been
supplied. The pumpsets can be supplied in for different voltage 110/220/415/440 volts and
50/60 Hz frequencies. Stainless steel pumps are also supplied. Submersible motors to suit
NEMA standards are available as a regular option.

The first electric motor and water lifting pump in India were produced in Coimbatore seven
decades back. India’s first pump was produced at DPF, Coimbatore in the year 1928. Today
60% of India’s requirements of domestic and agricultural pump sets are made in Coimbatore.
Besides Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Baroda, Calcutta, and Dewas are the other places where
agricultural pump industries are situated. Today, the pump and motor manufacturing sector is
among the largest engineering activities in the city. The pump manufacturing industry in
Coimbatore holds a major portion of the total Indian market share. Over the years, the city has
become as well known for its pumps as it has for its textiles. Many brands in the international
market are Coimbatore based companies and the quality and technical superiority of the
products has helped the sector cater to both domestic and global demands. Apart from a leading

presence in the water pump market, the city’s manufacturing houses also specialize in the
manufacture of industrial pumps. The motor and pump industry supplies over 40% of India’s
requirements. The Major Pump manufacturers Aqua sub engineering, Mahendra Pumps,
Suguna pumps, Sharp Industries, Deccan Pumps, CRI Pumps, Texmo Industries, PVG
Industries, Flowserve, Kirloskar Brothers & KSB Pumps have manufacturing base in the city

The Indian pump industry is poised to register a faster growth rate than global average. India
exports pumps to almost 100 countries, with the USA and Germany, at around 13 and 12 per
cent respectively, being the largest destinations. International players with an Indian presence
have buyback arrangements, meaning that pumps manufactured in their Indian facilities are sold
abroad. The total share of Indian pumps in global exports is less than three per cent. Exports
registered a drop in the 2010 financial year — a year- on-year drop of eight per cent — due to
recessionary pressures; but these have since picked up and this industry is estimated to grow
around 10 per cent each year Global Marketing- A Study with Reference To Motor Pumps in
Coimbatore City 569 over the coming years. Indian Pumps &motors are now being exported to
more than 70 countries both developed and developing countries. This can be expected to
happen increasingly and across many more countries around the world through proper
interventions. Imports account for around five per cent of total domestic consumption, with the
US, China and France being the largest sources. Meanwhile, the low-cost model of local
manufacturers has limited the scale of Chinese imports in the agriculture sector, and the lack of
established after-sales service has also limited the expansion of Chinese supplies to the
industrial sectors.

MARKETING DEPARTMENT

Marketing is the science of meeting the needs of a customer by providing valuable

products to customers by utilizing the expertise of the organization, at same time, to achieve
organizational goals. According to the American Marketing Association, Marketing is the
activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and
exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large. With
this definition, it is important to realize that the customer can be an individual user, a company,
or several people who contribute to the purchasing decision. The product can be a hard good, a
service, or even an idea – anything that would provide some value to the person who provides
an exchange. An exchange is most often thought of as money, but could also be a donation of
time or effort, or even a specific action. A producer is often a company, but could be an
individual or non-profit organization.

Classical marketing is often described in terms of the four “P‟s, which are:

 Product – what goods or services are offered to customers

 Promotion – how the producer communicates the value of its products

 Price – the value of the exchange between the customer and producer
 Placement – how the product is delivered to the customer.

A complete analysis of these categories is often called the Marketing Mix. More detail on
these categories can be found in the later entry on the Marketing Plan.Marketing has both
inbound and outbound activities. Inbound activities largely centre on discovering the needs and
wants of the potential customers. The collective group of all potential customers is called a
market. Categorizing these needs into groups is called segmentation. Organizing markets into
segments allows a producer to more logically decide how to best provide value to that group of
potential customers. The analysis of market segment needs; analysis of existing sales and
profitability; the descriptions, design and introduction of new products; and the analysis of
competitor offerings are also inbound activities that are important but not often seen by the
public. Outbound activities include all aspects of informing the market that a product is
available, delivering that product, and encouraging the purchase decision.

Sales and marketing process are based on following the terms,

19
ENQUIRY

OFFER

PURCHASE ORDER

ORDER ACCEPTANCE

PROFORMA INVOICE

INVOICE BILL

Marketing function includes research and development, pricing, distribution, cu8stomers

customers, they guide the development of product service.

 The process of recruiting employees.

 The cultural activities and other welfare measures followed in the company.
WORKING HOURS:

As per the Factories Act 1948, every adult (a person who has completed 18 years
of age) cannot work for more than 48 hours in a week and not more than 9 hours in a

FINGER PRINT / BIOMETRIC TIME RECORDERS:

Fingerprint system plays important role to record employees IN & OUT timing for
attendance & overtime calculation. The fingerprint sensor must be in good quality to read
the employee's difficult fingers which is usually dirty, oily and some employees even
have sweaty & dry fingers in natural.
Our fingerprint readers are built-in with high quality optical sensors which can
read wet, dry, cut & swelled fingers.

FRINGE BENEFITS:

Fringe benefits are additions to compensation that companies give their

employees. Some fringe benefits are given universally to all employees of a company
while others may be offered only to those at executive levels. Some benefits are awarded
to compensate employees for costs related to their work while others are geared
togeneraljob satisfaction. In any case, employers use fringe benefits to help them recruit,
motivate, and keep high-quality people.

22
CONCLUSION

I learnt a lot during my internship programme. The working environment was really
good and the person who guided also taught the work to me in a friendly manner. I had good
experience, it was very useful to me and I learnt how to behave in a working environment. This
is a golden opportunity given to me and all students.

Organization to be dynamic should possess dynamic human resources. Human resources

to be dynamic acquire capabilities continuously; adopt the values and beliefs when employees
use their initiative, take risks, experiment, innovate and make things, happen, the organization
may said to have an enabling culture. Thus, the organization can develop, change and excel,
only if it possess developed human resources
