Allred Campaign Previews Strong Campaign Finance Report

Katy TX – Dr. Anna Allred, the conservative Republican choice in the Special Election
for Texas State Representative, District 28, previewed a strong campaign finance
report. The “30 Days Before an Election” report is the first indication of what the
candidates are raising and spending. The District 28 Special Election is being held to
fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Dr. John Zerwas.

“I’m a physician, not a politician – an outsider to politics. My goal is to bring a fresh

perspective and fresh ideas about how to better run our state government. Raising
money is something that is new to me,” Dr. Allred said.

“I’m proud to say we raised $158,570 from 140 contributors. Because of this, our
campaign is now built on a solid foundation. We’ll report $86,279 cash on hand.

“I entered this campaign clear-eyed about the challenges ahead. We could face as
many as five elections in just 14 months – Special Election in November with a
Special Runoff if necessary, Primary in March with a Primary Runoff if necessary,
and General in November 2020,” Dr. Allred concluded. “Three of my opponents have
all run and lost, one of whom has lost half a dozen times. I’m in this campaign to win.
I think our broad base of support is an indication of our strength and our success at
the ballot box.”
